as far as i am aware there are only around 18 120y (B210) Coups left registered in the U.K. there are only probably a handfull actually on the road. the one i have is in remarkable condition with only a few minor blisters showing. considering the 120Y was on of the best selling cars in the 70's there are no that many left.

this one i bought ready modified. it has a 147 horspower 1.8 VVT MX5 engine and 5 speed gearbox. the front struts and brakes are from a Datsun 280ZX, and for the rear axle i have a LSD'd Ford English axle to fit. also me being me there are other things that i wanted to change.

the gearlever was too far back and very low so it felt odd to drive. the steering wheel was too high and it had broken columb covers with a Mercedes changeover switch fitted in place of the standard indicators and wiper switch. i managed to get hold of a NOS indicator switch and good used columb covers and wiper switch.

the gearlever

modified

and remade the gearbox cover (there because the Mazda 'box is longer)

old one

thats better

i also improved the exhaust system by making a new one. i managed to get a couple of suitable silincers but needed a back box just to quieten it a little further. i couldn't find one so i made one

i recovered the rear interior in moquette

vinyl coming adrift

moquette

i still need to stiffen the suspension and do a couple of other little jobs then it should be good for a few sprints and trackdays.
