Default Flowmaster for Integra?

It sounds pretty good. Anyone have one?

I actually had one on my old 89 Prelude and it sounded pretty good, actually. Nice and deep.

Aren't DC, comptech, or even smsp or hytech made in the us? So wouldn't it be a domestic muffler too? Wow a domestic made muffler, or header for an import. It really doesn't matter who makes a muffler as long as it flows well and sounds good to your ears. Although if you look at the internal design of the flowmaster you'd see it may not be as free flowing as other mufflers. Remember fast moving gasses don't take well to drastic changes in direction.

If you want to pay 600 for an imported muffler that is your business. If it sounds good and gives me power then I will use it, and use the money saved for other toys.

If daewoo made a muffler for your car would you use it just because it was imported.

I know a guy with a flowmaster exhaust on his JRSC civic. Doesn't sound bad to me.

it's like saying you won't have crower cams b/c they're an American company. or a JG header or skunk2 manifold . if you think it sounds good and you like it, get it.

flowmasters will only make it sound good.

they offer no where near the performance gain you can receive with a full cat back system.

all flowmaster mufflers are a chambered system, this is how they get their nice sound, but at the price of making the exhaust gasses turn.

you want your exhaust to take the straightest path possible to the exit, not the shortest, but the straightest. when something that is going straight is forced to turn, it will lose momentum. and yes your exhaust gasses have momentum.

flowmasters

I purchased the flowmaster because i wanted better sound, but not anything high-pitched or ridiculously loud. it looks more like a stock exhaust, as well. it's a mellower, deep sound and there has been a definite increase in acceleration across the gears. since integras are often stolen, and i usually park on the street, my goal is to increase performance without drawing attention to the car with obvious upgrades. the flowmaster isn't for everyone, but it's a solid upgrade. i am VERY happy with it.

It doesn't sound all that bad.It has a nice deep tone to it.If you just want sound quality instead of hp then go with whatever suits your preference.Exhaust system makes little difference in hp if you're close to stock, so no one really cares which one you chose. If you like flowmaster then go with flowmaster.

i had mine with stock pipes cat and resonator and it was ok nice even tone and then i got new pipes headers hollow cat no resonator and 2.25 pipes and it sounded like shit..nice even tone but too dam loud and raspy so i upgraded to a G power medallion...if u go with aflowmaster make sure u get the delta flow and 60 series anything lower is loud and no delta flow ones even louder

^ a little rasp goes a long way.

I used to have a flowmaster on a 95' Integra LS and it really didnt do much as for performance gains because of the chambered design and the fact it was an axle-back. They do sound fine until about 4-6k rpm and its like there is a banshee riding your tailpipe. I didn't prefer to cabin noise either around 3k, very resonating and annoying on the freeway.
