Default d16z6 vtec code

my ecu is throwing a vtec spool solenoid valve code(#21)

everything is connected but i looked up a diagram and if i had a b16 i would need to hook up a wire to my ecu and to the knock sensor would this be for a d16 also?

and im missing another wire that i think needs to be connected to the ecu and to the vtec pressure switch

so am i lookin at wat needs to be fix or is there anything else?

first of all what car do you have? and what obd it is?

second d16z6 dont use knock sensors. if your car wasnt and ex or si depending on the model then you will need a vtec ecu and also wire up the vtec solenoid and preasure switch to the ecu.

May be I'm missing something. If you have a D16z6 why are you using a B16 wiring picture ?

Have you tried pulling the green connector and pugging it back in. That worked for me once after a engine replacement.

It sounds like you have the ECU that came with the z6, is that correct ?

what green plug? obd1 doesnt use green plugs...whats the ecu code youre using. it should say it on the side of the ecu.

if you dont have a p28, p30, p61, p72 or p08 then you do not have a vtec ecu. also from what i remember obd1 only has grey plugs for obd1 ecu wiring. green plugs is obd0.

All our D16z6's had green plugs on the solenoid.

Just like the B18's

did you run wires for vtec?

94's did not come prewired for vtec, only 92 did

http://eastcoastchopstix.com/forum/v...php?f=24&t=500

that link shows what you need to know, scroll down to post 3 or 4 to find shock tower wiring for vtec

now i understand. all this time i thought he was talking bout the ecu plugs.
thats the vtec preasure switch.

OP make sure you have it wired right.

vtec solenoid to A4 on the ecu
vtec preasure switch to D6 on the ecu
