Default b20 swap, got questions

So I got this B20B motor today from attarco, an engine importer, and of course there is no vin number on the block. So I can't figure out what year the motor came out of. The receipt says it's a 1997. The guy there said that I would have to change out my crank sensor. I don't know why he would say that. Isn't 1997 crv obd2? All I should have to change out is my distributor and intake manifold, right?

the crank sensor issue he is talking about is the fact that the b20b doesnt have the sensor at all...the ls motor does...its right next to the crank pully...and the year can be located in a little circle right beneath the valve cover in the middle front...get a jumper harness and obd1 ls ecu and u wont have to worry about the crank sensor

are u dropping the motor into a obd1, obd2, or obd0 car...?
cause when i did my b20 swap into my car i jsut kept the obd0 dizzy and injectors and junk'd the others... o and u want to keep ur fuel rail. Also myh old LS had the ECT sensor located on the back of the block b20 is located near thermostat on the housing easy just cut some wires in the harnes and solder em back up ...

I have my B20 in 95 Integra and I just replace the engine. Used original (B18's) injectors and air manifold instead B20's. Thats pretty much it!
Engoy your B20!

isn't 99 obd2b? good luck trying to smog that motor because your not going to be able to get it reffed......has to be a 99 motor up so you can make it legale. but if you got the time to swap out once smog time comes around then good job!!!

If your cars ECU is USDM 96' and newer and the motor is JDM the ECU will look for a CKP which is a crank fluctuation sensor. You can either put a USDM 96 and up oil pump which has the CKP plug or you can make the ECU think that the CKP is running off the CPP which is the Crank Position Sensor. Also you will want to transfer everything from the motor that was in the car to your B20. And if your B20 is the one with the tall Giraffe manifold then obviously that will have to be changed. Any B series mounts will work obviously, if it helps just imagine swapping in an Ls.

just completed a b 20 swap into a 90 teg yesterday. simple swap, used the tegs dizzy, intake ex manifold, basically took everything off the b18 and put it on the b 20. car fired right up, the only minor issue was the idle was a couple hundred rpm higher then before. havent addressed that yet. there was only one sensor that didnt swap right into the b 20 block. luckily there was a spot om the b20 that was only about 5 inches from the sensors original location. i drilled it out a tapped it. no big deal. the car looks totally stock when you peak under the hood.this the the hole that had to be tapped

switch installed

i was really inpressed with the cnew clutch set and engine mounts.
