NEED HELP with obdII codes

Default NEED HELP with obdII codes

ok.... my car is obd2 and it throws a check engine of 54 but i think thats for the obd1 cars and mine is obd2... can anyone tell me whats the code for obd2 and what it means.. thans.. by the way its a sohc vtec .. and stock ecu.. thanx

I might as well add this info to the thread for others.

These are both for '96-'00 Civics (these match to the MIL flash code of 54):

P1336
Detection Item: Crankshaft Speed Fluctuation Sensor Intermittent Interruption
Probable Causes: CKF sensor

P1337
Detection Item: Crankshaft Speed Fluctuation Sensor No Signal
Probable Causes: CKF sensor; CKF sensor circuit; ECM/PCM

i see alot of the time for this code is that the crank sensor wire slips out of th e timing cover clip and rubs the alternator belt and ruins the wire. replace the crank sensor and your problem should be fixed.

Based on information in the manual, this sensor functions primarily to detect engine misfiring.

i barely changed the sensor b4 i swapped in the motor.. but the plug from the engine harnes got cut and i lost the plug so i used a diff plug with diff colors and i didnt knoe what wire went where.. the colors are white brown and black in what order do they go... right now i have them white black brown
