Default ► ▌▌READ BEFORE POSTING ▌▌ [Forum Guidelines]

NOTE: These rules can and will be enforced!

0. THIS FORUM IS NOT THE MARKETPLACE! Post in the For Sale / Want To Buy thread, or not at all.

1. Search (See Below for a visual tutorial)

2. Check the FAQ's. There's an ABUNDANCE of information already available here that might not have come up in your searching.

3. Use common sense when attempting to make new threads. If the topic seems like it's been covered before, bump an existing thread. If the topic is broad, and could be covered more thoroughly in one of the Technical Forums, post there instead.

4. Reporting Etiquette () - Please make sure to use this when necessary. If you see someone getting out of line, don't comment, click the Report Button () under their user name and leave a brief message as to why you disagree. This will leave a PM with the moderating staff, and they will deal with it. It's also a good way to let us know about dead image links in the FAQ's, or outdated FAQ information.

5. POSTING GUIDELINES:
- a. Use proper grammar and etiquette when posting, especially when making new threads. The thread title should also be relevant to the content of the thread you create. Sloppy thread titles are cause for an instant lock, with a possible User Infraction.
- b. Bumping - You're allowed to bump once, so use it wisely (General rule of thumb: wait longer than 4 hours for a bump). A second bump will get the thread locked.
- c. "Flaming" will not be tolerated here. First offense, you'll get a verbal warning. Any following offenses will result in point deductions, with an eventual ban.
- d. Opinion threads - They will be Closed Poll, technically based, and with relevant information posts only. The moment people take it beyond that, into the realm of useless chatter/banter, they will be locked.

6. For anything else, make sure to read the Site Guidelines / Terms of Service here on Honda-Tech.

7. Private Messaging Information:
- To send a private message: Click on the user's name and select "Send a Private Message"

Search Guide

First off, PLEASE use the existing resources available here on Honda-Tech for your benefit. You'd be surprised, that a vast majority of the questions you have, have already been answered multiple times. This means using the Search feature, and checking your board specific FAQ's (usually stickied to the top of the forum at all times). Keep in mind that re-posts are frowned upon and usually dealt with quickly.

1. Use the "Advanced Search" page. (pictured below)
2. If you know what forum the thread or post is in, select to search only that forum(s) (multiple forums can be selected by holding down "CTRL" when selecting)
3. If you know the title of the thread, select to only search thread titles.
4. If you feel that the words you are searching for may commonly be together, place quotation marks around them (i.e "fuel injector").
5. If you know who made the post/thread that you are searching for originally add their username to the "User Name" area
6. Try returning your search results by relevancy
7.
If you have an idea of when the thread that you may be searching for was posted, limit the date range using the option available.

For those of you who've been consistently unsuccessful when searching, here's a quick guideline for reference:

* Always try to narrow results as much as possible. If you know which forum the thread your looking for was posted in.. select that forum only

* When searching try to be specific.. phrases typed differently may pull different results

* If you have an idea of when the thread that you may be searching for was posted, limit the date range using the option available.

There is a huge database here and a lot of information and threads that have already been covered.. To help cut down on repeated topics always check the [faq] threads stickied at the top of the forums and then try searching before creating a new topic. If you have a particular issue with the search engine or results.. Feel free to contact me and I can forward it to Internet brands.
