Well then obviously it would seem that not just everyone knows how to write an ecu. Im trying to find something i can use to learn to tune myself, ive seen first hand what has to be done to use megasquirt and i dont have that kind of time for my daily driver. Thanks though.

It just requires a basic understanding of how the sensors work in the car and how to use an editing software. There are a lot of basemaps out there to start with for a lot of setups.

But definitley for a honda it is a waste of time.

megasquirt was just one example, but I agree with 93turbo16 that it is a waste of time on a Honda. There are a number of ecu editor programs out there that work just as well and it doesn't take a rocket scientest to get a decent tune on one.

I've heard great things about the TEC 3, but it's only if you can afford it. What it's price tag is like $2500, or something along those line. But endless capabilities, and no more distributor!

If your not doing the tuning and near a Neptune dealer...go neptune. If your doing it yourself or not near a neptune dealer...go Crome pro. Ive done quite a few 400-500+ whp cars on Crome and no issues yet. Ive actually had more issues with the few s300's ive done (granted they were early editions with known problems)

Again as others have said, better to wait and save your engine+money than to get slap happy and blow it all up. Truth be told once you figure out what's going on street tuning isn't even that hard. Get Crome, find a basemap, get a wideband O2 sensor and go from there...it's not rocket science.
