Its a Rover engine, not a Honda thats why ..... But it was made by Honda. Anyone??

D16A8. Honda's engine, just in Rover shell.

1.6l Dohc desing

130hp/6800rpm

153nm/5800rpm

Same as A9, just with rovers ugly valve cover. Some models were equipped with catalytic convertor. Basic 1.6 Dohc layout with 9.5:1 compression. A9 ran with PM7 components, not sure about the A8, but definatley runs great with PM7.

It comes with the USDM spec 4-1 header instead of the better flowing JDM 4-2-1 header.
It comes with a WHITE plastic T-Belt cover instead of black
Valvecover is SPECIAL
POWER and SPEC-WISE I DOUBT there's anything MAJOR in difference.

if im not mistaken i think the that zc came from a rover gti 416,i have seen pictures of these cars and they are really nice.i was told by a guy a a rover tech site that its has 138 hp not 130,it wieghs the same as a single cam.i have this motor in my crx si and it runs strong as ****.i have been told that the rover engine is better then the jdm zc.my motor is a 94 but its obd0?

and yes it does have that funky valve cover,but i like it people dont mistake it for a teg motor.

The A8 A9 was a follower to a ZC motor.

So thatswhy it has minor upgrades and diffrences to the "old" ZC engine.
