ENGINE CLATTER WHEN IDLING
https://www.dropbox.com/s/yn4d6nirhu...612_182325.mp4
I'm hoping this link will work! Can anyone identify what might be making this noise?
The engine has just been started. It's a hot - 28 degrees Celsius - day and while this noise will subside a bit, it will not go away completely. The truck has 198,000 kms on the clock, but the block and heads were new 45,000 kms ago. I suspect a lifter, but a friend suggested it is the timing belt tensioner.
The engine runs fine; no obvious problems, same gas consumption as always, smooth acceleration, etc.
Thanks.

My shop tore the engine down and found that the front bank of cylinders are suffering from piston slap. All three pistons look pretty worn.
