Re: Member Introductions
Hi all, I'm lock.
I'm kind of jumping into the deep end. I own two Hondas, a 95 Prelude SE and a 98 Prelude Base. My 95 is a dream car, in most sensible way a nearly 30 year old car can be. It barely has issues. It has a jdm h23a (replaced stock h23) and a stock 5 speed. This car was a garage queen, with some wear and tear here and there, 30 year old leather is hard to keep plush forever, but even then, still really soft and not entirely dried out yet. Love it!
My 98 base is my nightmare, and mostly what you'll likely find me posting about. H22a4 is slightly more headache inducing for me because vtec. I got this car as a project, the transmission is a dumb 4 speed SpOrTsHiFtEr that has never worked and is getting swapped out for a 5 speed, or depending where I take the build, a 6 speed.
Currently I'm at an empasse on which direction i want to take the car. Its inoperable, it most likely is going to sit for another year or two. Heres my options: overhaul most of the engine bay, rebuild or replace a lot of components including the block, and do the manual swap. This will make CALIFORNIA happy as I'm not effing with their emissions.
Now why I have the empasse: for a similar cost as rebuilding the h22 block i could procure a j32.. and swap that in per California's BAR requirements. People look at the engine change in california as an insurmountable mountain so they don't try. Ive done the replacement, and that was sensible. Honestly, I am very tempted to swap in a j series since 90% of everything on the car needs a refresh anyway.
I should mention: I'm not a mechanic, but I am inclined. I've been taking things apart and putting them back together since I was a kid, and my dad was an auto mechanic so he helped foster that part of me. He gave me lots of junkyard engines, from boats to automobiles, to completely mess up and tear down. I loved it. I loved it so much I want to do it again, except with a whole car. I hope yall who read this will bear with me and show me some patience, as this is almost a new world for me. I will probably ask dumb questions, or not know how to use the site features, but I need to learn.
Thank you ahead of time!

G'day All,
I'm Rob from Australia - Bathurst New South Wales - home of "Mount Panorama," possibly the most famous (and probably most dangerous) racing circuit in Aus. Get something wrong on one of the corners and its full of unforgiving concrete walls to run into. Most famous race there annually is the "Bathurst 1000" for V8 supercars. I have a 2002 Honda Civic (EU) 1.7 vi Auto. (truly speaking its my wife's car), done close on a quarter of a million kM now (156,000 miles). So far its had very little attention apart from regular servicing, what amazes me about it is that there's gotta be some wear on the engine at that mileage and last year we took a big road trip to Tasmania, about 2,000kM (1,250 miles) round trip, mostly freeway and mostly using the cruise control at 110 kM/Hr (70mph) - the national limit, we got 5.5L per 100kM (51.7 miles per imperial gallon //43.05 miles per USG, phew had to be careful there - there's been plane crashes in the past with people confusing Imperial and US gallons - true story!) fuel consumption - almost unbelievable!
In addition to the Honda I have a 2005 MG ZR (one of the last off the UK line before they moved production to China), a 2004 Smart 452 Roadster, a 2014 Mahindra dual-cab Ute (pick up truck), and three cars undergoing (very slow) restoration, being a 1953 Citroen 'Traction Avant,' a 1953 Bristol 401 coupe, and a 1969 Peugeot 404.
Happy motoring,
Rob

Hello everyone. New to the forums, but worked on Honda's for 3.5 years as a tech and always worked on my parts CRV. Saw everything from late 80's Accords to when the S2000 first came out.
I purchased the 09 CRV EX from my parents June 2022, and now have started to look into bolt on performance pars for the K24 and planning on a 1.5" lift kit. Already started on a new audio system. All I need is rear door speakers, receiver, sub box, wiring, and a nice day to do it all.

Owner of a 2004 Honda Acura TL. Only 129K in miles but I have been a few issues with it lately and in need of some advice.
Maybe I can offer some advice to other owners as well.
Nice to meet everybody.

Whats up guys! I just bought my very first Honda ever! Its a 97 Sel Sol Si, D16y8, auto trans. Im soo super freakin excited to get to know these japanese engines better & it rides like a dream (other than the shaky steering whee, think I need a balance maybe?) but I bought this car for 1700$, & im so excited to work on it.
any tips from the pros out there on what I should maybe look at first? My engame goal with this thing would be to maybe swap to a B18? & definitely manual swap. But for now, is it worth it to maybe get this automatic refreshed? It has 274k miles on it. Let me know what yall think. Thanks for taking the time to read, also!

Hi Everyone. Excited to be on this site. Always willing to learn more about Hondas. Hondas have been the only cars I've own. Love how reliable they are so afraid to try other car brands
Currently have 2017 Accord LX, 2013, Civic LX, and 2007 Odyssey.

Hello all, JT here. Wanted to introduce myself. I'm the original owner of a 1991 CRX Si with 203k miles. Drove the car off the lot at Bachman Honda in Kingsport TN (dealership since sold) in May 1991.Right now, it shows every one of those miles, but I've slowly been gathering sheet metal and trim parts to bring it back to factory fresh some day. I also own a 2004 Accord LX (daughters car) and a 2013 Accord EXL V6 (wife's car) so you could say I'm partial to Hondas.

Re: Member Introductions
Hello, Just joined this forum today. We've owned this 2000 EM1 since it was new and after 298K faithful miles I'm in the middle of a full engine overhaul after a dealership misdiagnosis but what the hell, it was about time to finally give back. The car is all stock and will remain stock correct save for a few internal engine components. As for the rest of the parts I've been rounding up every single factory Honda component and seal that I can get my hands on. I'll post up a build thread on this little project here shortly.
Thanks! Justin

Re: Member Introductions
Hello All,
I'm swapping a K24 into a 1992 NSX. Will need this forum in the near future.
I have been on this forum since it started as other names, but haven't been on in about 10 years.
Last name was 95ONE. and NSXLR8 waaaaay before that. Before multiple iterations of this website. - When forums were actually just private emails sent from the forum page. Wonder is any of you go back that far?
I know what it was like when dirt was new.
I am in my 50's now and was on the street racing scene well before Fast and Furious came out. (it did make me furious to watch as it was absolutely ridiculous with tons of mis information., but certainly increased interest in the hobby)
Don't get me started about how I felt when I saw the scene that blew the passenger floor pan off because the intake pressure was too high. WHAT!?
LOL. That comment above represents my old and grumpy nature now, but I do tend to smile every now and then.
I"m an office guy now, but still have fun Fabricating when I get the time. Been fabricating since my 20's. Heavily in my 30's and 40's.
Good to be back for a bit.

Car 94 accord lx I believe? This car was free and spray painted if that tells you anything about what im about to deal with.
Been into cars my whole life, love most lol. I own 63 belair 85d100 2020 chevy and this 94 honda accord.
I have accord with a f22 im doing for my niece. I redone motor mounts but may have gotten the wrong one. After reading some i may have messed up and gotten wrong rear engine mount? Do i need the one with the sensor???
Im guessing it serves as a vacuume
Let me say this, im a parts changer. Not a mechanic.
Thanks to all for what yall do here!

Re: Member Introductions
My names Eric, I go by rookie usually. I recently went from a truck guy to a Honda guy in a matter of two days. I came across a 93 10th anniversary accord and I feel in love with it! I have the f22a1 motor in it now but I plan on changing the heads and cams and ecu soon so I can run closer to a a6 and hopefully turbo my cb7. I have been using this site since day one (a little over a month now) for everything! I bought the car not running and now it’s my daily driver. I appreciate this forum for all the knowledge it provides and the positive people who love there Hondas. I hope to learn a lot and gain a lot of knowledge so I can get my cb7 to the point it deserves!
