Default why did BOTH of headlights go out at the same time???????????????

had to drive home on high beams tonight. Both my low beams did not work. Why did both not work at one time. I really didnt have time to examine them closly but did notice that one bulb had blown out and the other was fine. Even if the other had blown out why would both go at one time????? Im not going to mess with it tonight but what to look for tommorow???

relay, fuse, or loose connection. If you're using aftermarket high voltage bulbs, they could have melted the connector or something.

other then the fuses on the driver side, are there other locations to look for? Or locations for relays?

there are some under the hood... you should be able to spot them, there on the battery side of the engine bay.

ok, ALL fuses checked as well as relays underhood and all are fine. I have started messing around the headlights themselves. Swapped out bulbs with my original back up bulbs and the back ups work. However, trying the ones that were suspeced bad and one of them now lights up. Now, i the are going on and off, almost like a poor connectionin the plug. I have looked in them and they are slightly dirty/corosion, but nothing out of the ordinary or unexpected for a car 8 years old. Could it be the contacts in the plugs that are causing this? IF so would contact cleaner solution be a fix??

If you put the back up (good ones) in and they do not "flicker" then its the filament inside the bulb...

just toss both of them and get new ones. Im sure it was just a coincidence.

ok here is what happened today. purchased some CRC contact cleaner. Sprayed the hell out of the plugs and installed my back up bulbs that i carry in the glove box for just such a problem. WEll, no more flickers. Looks like it might have been a complete coinsidence but now works well.

--Bad news side note, while i was down there noticed yet another leak in my radiator.....UUUUUUGGGGGG. Why now, damn, when it rains it poors. Not enough cash after christmas for another radiator. This one will see one more Quiksteel patch. It holds fine, but a new radiator will have to wait a while till money comes in and school isnt a bitch.

My lights went out on me too, almost at the same time. I noticed the right side went out on my way to the store. I park get what I neeed to get and get back in my car to go home and discover the left side out too. I drove home with my H/B on. I get home swap them out with another same exact set as the one's that went out ******* died on me againg. They were cheapy aftermarket bulbs.
