Default H22 individual throttle bodies: are they ok for daily driving?

just curious if anyone has any info on them, how much power they add, modifications you have to make to the ecu, etc to run them, how much do they cost? very interested in this for an all motor beast.

You'll need a full stand alone to handle the new air a fuel that has to be dumped into it. You'll also want a fully built head with some stage 2 or 3 cams. A high com bottom end fully built. And it can be street driven but you wont have much power till you hit 6 plus rpms. Build the motor befor you get ITB

Poison was telling me about a guy with little mods put ITBs on his h22 and he was hitting 11.8 (I think so). The are not really made for daily driving, but with a very good tuner, they can tuned so that it is somewhat drivable. (Poison?)

Yes!

You can run daily driven. Of course ITB's respond more to a built motor, but you STILL can get nice power gains from running ITB's.

I'm actually getting me some after I make a road trip to Cali.

You do NOT need to run a full standalone. Max at LuckyRacing is running on a P72 tuned with V-AFC, and I've even seen some just run on small piggy backs!

Tuning is a little more complicated with standard intake manifolds, that is because it's due to WAY short runners, and extremely more air flow, thus you'd need more fuel injected.

Gas mileage will go down the drain to about 15ish MPG, but it's well worth it.

see this is the thing about ITB the veiws are all over the place. But since lucky racing is just running a new fuel map i gues you don't need the stand alone but there always nice to have

ITBs are nice, but expensive. And they like high compression motors, so if you build your H22 to 12:1 compression, then you'll have a nice setup. Ever heard a car coming down the street with ITBs? Crazy sounding..... and loud so watch out for the police.

ITB's own. Nothing like an NA H22 sounding like a pissed off 454 owning more V8's
