I need to replace the windshield on my car and was thinking of upgrading to Lexan. Considering they're lighter and safer than safety glass I assume I should be OK. But considering how cops are cracking down in my neighbourhood I just want to check. Anyone know for sure?

they're not, and they scratch really easily. Lexan windows should be seen as a replacable/wear-item.

go with glass.

Speedglass doesn't scratch so they would never know if it was there. Plus it comes molded

well I take back what I said. they probably do a mild plastic coating on it and make it scratch resistant...very cool.

I'm going to look into this...

Look into *Teflon*....

There is lexan and there is plexi glass... one is lighter than the other and it also scratches easier. the other is very slightly heavier and is polishible.
