Default Axle spline/nut sizes anyone? ('88 Accord/'93 H22A swap)

WHAT IS THE HUB NUT SIZE ON THE 92-93 ACCORDS?

I think I may have to buy a Civic axle and splice it into the Intermediate shaft. Read on for details...

Swap: 1993 JDM H22A motor & tranny into a 1988 Accord LX.

Custom computer: ??? Nope, P13 from the 'lude.
Custom engine mounts: no problem (engineer+welder+equipment)
Custom exhaust: no problem (they're the same size!)
Custom fuel system: Off tha 'lude, baby. No problem at all.
Custom axles: ???

The Accord hub nut is 32mm, and the Prelude ones were 34mm (I think). The Prelude splines at the tranny are the same size, but the ones at the hubs are smaller on the Accord. The right side axle for the '88 Accord MIGHT be the right length (have to double-check my measurements). If the four axles laying on my shop floor are all wrong , should I start looking at Civic/Integra axles? Did Honda use 34mm nuts across all of their cars after '92?

I will probably re-post this in the Civic/Integra form if I need the info. It's hard to find this kind of data.

Man, I sure would like to see the end result of this project.

Edit: The nut size is 36MM I believe...

Nuts. I honestly can't remember if the 'lude was 34 or 36mm (I have all three sockets), but my car was a 32.

I guess I'll have to either make a 'frankenaxle' from a spare right side axle off the '88 Accord, or talk to the Civic guys. There's a local who put an H22A in a Civic hatch, but it is newer, so maybe they all use the larger hub?

Nuts. Nuts. Nuts!

There is a guy in Toronto who has an H22A in his 86 Accord hatch. I will upload some pics of it when I get a chance. One question.... why did you choose the LX(carbed)?? are you going to run a stand alone engine management? I myself am doing an LS/Vtec swap in my 88 Accord because of the swap kit that is already made for it.

You may want to consider swapping hubs instead of coming up with a frankenaxle. It may be easier in the long run, and you would have the opportunity to upgrade your brakes at the same time. I'm pretty sure all accords from 90 up use a 36mm axle nut.

Hmm... I had planned to do a brake upgrade anyway. My main concern is that hubs are big $$, around 400 clams PER SIDE. Way more expensive than an axle change. None of the local junkyards have the hubs for later model Accords, and I have no idea if they fit anyway. I will look into it.

To answer 88LXi68's question, 1) I bought my car in pristine condition (except for a very poorly running engine with 170k on it) for $3500 when the going price for an identical car was some $10,000. I'm not making this up. The car market here is a complete disaster. 2) The '88 and '89 Accord LX use in-tank fuel pumps identical the one used in the LXi, which was fuel injected. New lines, new wiring, and new in-tank pump is all that is required to get fuel to the H22A. Older carburated Accords would require cutting up/replacing the fuel tank. Guess I got lucky.
