Default 95' civic dx engine swap

I have a 95 civic dx and I want to do a engine swap. Now it has a d15xx non vtec and I was wondering what would be the best DOHC vtec engine to put in it. & I also want to switch it from auto to manual. I was thinking a b series. But I kinda want something that will just go in and I will not have to change the mounts so maybe a d series vtec would be better. The car is on my profile so you can look if you need a better visual. Thanks in advance.

There's plenty of threads here and the hybrid forum on what you're asking. I'm being nice because you're going to get flamed pretty quick. Some beginner tips: set a budget, power goals, and what you'll be using the car for (street, strip, track, etc) and come up with a plan. Search on here for similar builds as there's generally nothing new under the sun. Then come back if you have any specific questions.

Will that even fit? Isn't that a 2.4l and everything is the opposite from the engine I have now. Trans is on right. Belts on the left
My trans is on the left, and belts on the right now.

You've got ALOT to lean yes it'll fit, you'll need new mounts and get rid of the old ones(frame part included) and along with a bunch of other stuff. but you're looking at 6-8K for a properly done K swap.

So k series isn't what I'm looking for.
Will a b series fit in without mount changes? Or is it only the d series vtec that will only fit like that?

you can fit a b in just fine just don't get a pos b16 as no replacement for displacement. a GSR(b18c1) can be had for 2-2.5K all swap components included. again what's your budget ?

On the site H-T(here) so Canada and the States. no add 800-1000 +/- if you want someone else to do it.

there is no "BEST" but out of all the b18's the JDM type R would be top of the line "out of the box" so to say. which will run you 4k+

B18c1, what do they run. For everything I need to put it in. It'll just go in right? No special mounts? I need to get new ones anyway.

You need to read the FAQ's sticky. There's an entire section dedicated to swaps there. It'll answer all of your questions. Between the FAQ's sticky, HMO, and Wikipedia, you can know exactly what it takes to swap, how much it'll cost you, and how much power each motor makes.

Put in a little effort. All the resources are there for you.

"came between [your] convo"? You're posting on a public forum - there are no "between us" conversations. The information is freely and publicly available, and easy to find. If you don't do it yourself, if something doesn't work out, you're just going to blame someone here who spoon-fed you information.

Scroll down to section 6. There's all of your swap (and boost) information right there.

http://hmotorsonline.com/shop/sc2000...USDM%20Engines
Browse through. There's all of your swap pricing.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_B_engine
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_K_engine
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_H_Engine
And there ya go, there is almost all of the output numbers for almost every B, H, and K series motor. I would link C and J motors, but if you're asking these questions, those swaps are going to be a bit over your head.

I got a 94 dx coupe and I was planning a b20 swap. Here in fl you can get the whole block for 500$ wit h 40k miles. I've seen many b20 swaps in my area. You can try looking on Craigslist, a lot of companies have postings on there. Good luck

They say it only has 40k. Guess what? Japan doesn't actually throw away engines when they hit 40k. Importers take whatever they can get, and they can say whatever they want, because no one calls them on it. I've seen "only 40,000!" imported engines in worse shape than motors that I've rebuilt at 200k+.

They are not jdm imports. From auto auctions and car salvages. B20s from newer crvs

"Newer" CRV's are K powered. The B20 CRV's ended in '01. Average single car owner, single driver puts 15k on their car in a year (fact, not guess). 12 years minimum, average 15k a year. I'll let you do the math, and figure out the statistical improbability of getting one that actually has 40k.
