RPM Jumps after head gasket replacement
Hey guys,
I have been searching and trying different things but I am losing patience. I have a 2005 Honda civic. I just replaced the head gasket due to overheating. I didn't have any idle problems before.
When I start the car the RPMs jumps up and down constantly while in park. I have checked and cleaned the idle control valve but it has the same issue.
I am going to bleed the coolant again tonight and see what happens but I can't figure out what happened.
Any suggestions?

Sounds like a vacuum leak. You check all the piping/hoses that were unplugged? You check the torque on the manifolds? Also, how do the seals to the injectors look?

Re: RPM Jumps after head gasket replacement
I checked the injectors and seals. Sat them in properly. Checked my houses but none look to be leaking. The car is doing something a little different now. It will idle semi normal on startup. After a minute or so it will start acting like it is going to die. When I rev it, the rpm's will start jumping again just like before. I am going to pull the manifold off and recheck everything one more time. I am going to try and recheck the torque specs on the rocker arm assembly etc. and make sure everything is put on correctly.
