'98 Honda Accord Driver Door Will Not Open From Inside or Outside
Hi, fiance has a 1998 Accord. We went to store and came back to car to find that the door will not open from outside or inside the car.
Apparently she said that she researched this a bit and found that this is a notorious problem with the Honda Accord? I'm not sure what she found specifically, but she said that she read that there is no way to open the door aside from cutting a hole in the door?
This is no bueno because we have a 1 1/2 yr old that she has to take everywhere... and not to mention she is also pregnant again at the moment , so she cant be sliding in through the window or other door.
Please, does anyone know about this problem? Is there another solution aside from cutting into the door

I took a stab in the dark and entered a model and trim cuz you didnt say what she had, hopefully its the same.
The door can be opened by removing screw #44 and popping the cover off and pulling the cover towards the front of the car. If you take inside handle cover off and it completely comes off, you should see a steel wire, unlock the door and pull the wire foward, the door should open.
Since it wint open from outside or inside,
Most likely clip #17 has failed that why it wont open from the outside
And since the door wont open from the inside, clip #40 or clip #22 have failed.
Clips are 3-4$ at honda but a pain to replace.

Thanks for taking the time to research that for me!
So you don't think I need to go through the hassle of these three methods I have come across?:
I plan on giving this a go this weekend.
Thanks again for your help! I have no idea what I would do if I didn't have someone to point me in the right direction

No problem.
I dont think youll have to do any of that. ,
Just pop the door panel off and get a flash light and look in there and see whats broken.
