Can my exhaust manifold be welded back together? (Pics inside)
I was wondering if these can be welded back together since it seems to be cracked right at the joints.
Also will anyone be able to tell me if I have California or federal emissions manifold+cat? If welding cost will be higher than junk yard part. It seem like the sticker on the hood that is suppose to tell you is not there anymore. Thank You!

check with the dealer, it's considered an emissions part due to the converter, and some of the emissions parts like this have an extended warranty from the factory

That's going to be a problem considering most junkyards do not sell catalytic converters. The cat is welded to the manifold, not bolted on. I'd look into getting it fixed first otherwise it will be a costly replacement if going for new. You could easily find someone parting a car out on craigslist that would have it, that's how I replaced mine in my old Y7 car.

seems like the extended warranty is over, its covered by 14 years or 150k, I am only at 120k....but you think any dealership would be nice enough to still do it for me?

No you cant wield cast iron it will just crack again. Just do an EX cat conversion and a header. You cant but that manifold at a junk yard because it has the cat on it and it is against federal law to sell used cats. Cheapest way it to put a header on it.

^This. If you try and weld it, it might hold up for a little while but it won't hold for long. You're going to have to replace it one way or another. Your cracked ex.mani is now scrap, sorry to say.

http://motors.shop.ebay.com/i.html?L...%2520Year=1997 and find a cheap bolt on cat converter

Or you could sell your current manifold for scrap metal ($40-80 worth) and put that money towards another used OEM replacement.
On my old 96' DX I had a 99/00 Y8 header/downpipe mated to the rest of the DX exhaust for a while. Sounded good not too loud just no cat. I eventually found another Y7 manifold in perfect condition I think I paid 20-30 bucks for it from a car being parted out.
Also have had a DSM 2G turbo manifold re-welded that was cast-iron and it held up fine for the six months I used it until I got a ported EVO manifold.
