Icon6 Low End Torque

Is There Anything That Doesn't Require Stroking The Motor, Boring Out/Sleeving To Get Good (Better) Low End Torque?

Change your gear ratio. What other mods do you have I would guess I/h/e. Maybe try cams. It's hard to say what you can do without knowing your current setup though. So a little more info would make it easier for us to help you.

Well, I Know This Ain't Going Sound Right At All Guys. So No Pokin' Fun LOL. My Friends AT D15B7 DX Is What We Talking About. This Is What He Wants.

*D16Z6 Head (D16Y8 Head Gasket)
Note: He Was Wanting The Head Milled 40 Thousandths...

He Already Has...
*Header
*Short Ram Intake
*2 1/4 Inch Exhaust
*AC Removed
*Coilovers (Front)

Cable From The Transmission Hooked Up To The TB, That Was Ignored...
Maybe Going Bigger On The TB To 68 Or 70MM...
May Get A New Header (4-2-1)...
MOST LIKELY Doing The (Mini Me Swap)...

May Be Running The H Series Automatic/VTec ECU...
The Car Is OBD1 Too...

Was Wanting To Run A Velocity Stack On The Intake Daily But Don't Really Know If The Air/Fuel Ratio Will Be Good With That... He Said He's Wanting To Run A 2 1/2 Inch Exhaust Too...

This!^^^Lately I've been researching TONS of info on this subject. If I don't build a boosted motor I'm just about sold on MFactorie's 4.92 final drive and 3.07 first gear combo in my ITR tranny. If you don't mind a few more revs (400-500) out of your motor then I'd say this just might be your answer. The link shows how it would turn out on my R's tranny with said combo using the MFactory gear calculator. Check it out.

If he's serious about gaining more performance, it has to start with ditching the automatic. If he doesn't want to hassle with it, tell him to get rid of the car. Buying anymore bolt-ons at this point is an absolute waste of money.

^^^Didn't wanna say that but, yeah. Doing tranny swaps are sometime not worth it. Just get another car.

Well if he can't or doesn't want to drive a manual transmission he probably should buy a different car if he wants some performance. Honda auto transmissions aren't very good at hold much torque so.....options are rather limited. I guess you can do the mini-me swap, you don't have to mill the head so much; I think you said 40 thou, just make sure the head is flat and straight. Then get the eBay cold air intake and some type of header and exhaust. But, honestly that's a rather giant waste of cash IMO. Good luck but if he really want performance from an auto just buy a different car. Lol good luck..

Bisimoto Made A 700HP D16Z6 Wagon On An Automatic Transmission... Why Can't We Just Build An All Motor (Mini Me) That's Torquey? Cause I Swear, We Changed The Throttle Body And Ignored The Cable From The Transmission... I Swear He Was Bangin' Gears From 1ST To 2ND... And You Probably Thinkin' I'm Frontin' Hard LOL...

And I'm Really Not LOL. Filter Was Off The Intake And The Bigger Diameter Throttle Body Was Installed. Not Sure Exactly How Big The Throttle Body Was. Came Off My LS Motor And We Was Seeing How His Car Would React. Compared Both TBs And Mine Was Bigger, So We Tried And He Was Bangin' 1ST To 2ND LOL.

his wagovan is definitely not an automatic. torque and n/a d series should be never be used in the same sentence.

get rid of the car and get something else.
Or swap in an h22 or a k24.
And why are you running a H series ecu?
That's just stupid if you have a d series.

because more fuel = more power right?

But seriously, I don't even think it would start with an h22 ecu.

Remove power steering. Less strain on the engine because you won't need to be powering the P/S pump and belt.

I know this is all motor forum but JRSC is easiest way for low end power. Pick up a used one.

Tell your friend to get a torque converter but aftermarket and throw in some stage three cams also port and polish it will be like a stock b16 but auto still gonna spin 2nd trust. Your also gonna want to put higher compression pistons in maybe 12:1 but yeah it needs work.
