Hi everyone!
I have a 1994 Honda accord ex, so my check engine light went on,
so I jumped the self diagnosis 2 pin connector turn the key on and i my light
went on but no blinks and it stays on unless i take the jumper paper clip away,
so do I have a 10 code or 1?

also, i did notice that the light goes on only on the first drive of the day,
i do a 10 minute drive to work,light goes on but if i drive in the next hour or so,
no lights will show up.

I can't remember if a solid light meant no codes or if it was the ECU but i'm pretty sure it means no codes. What I would do is reset the ECU. You can do this by removing the negitive battery cable, either way you lose your radio presets and clock, but it should fix your problems. Just remember to wait at least a minutes once the cable is removed. Then you just have to let the car warm up until the raidiator fan turns on at least twice, but it will clear any codes and should fix your problem.

I believe solid cel means the ecu is bad..but you said the car drives..and if it was a 1 or 10 it should still blink

Yeah I only said no codes because usually it isn't the ECU I have a time or two when I checked my codes and just had a solid light.

Solid CEL with the jumper on the service connector means no codes.

What I would do is just leave the jumper on, or at least keep it with you in the vehicle.

Perform the ECU reset, and if the CEL light comes back on, DON'T turn of the engine, and install the jumper; the CEL should flash a code. If it does not, then you've got a problem; ECU is malfunctioning (unlikely, as the engine isn't running terribly bad, and the CEL is showing good ECU), a short with the CEL (unlikely, as you say it's pretty consistent with the first drive of the day), or an intermittent problem that doesn't register consistently with the ECU.

I would not. Jumping the connector with the engine running will disable the advance mechanism in the distributor(this is why you jump it when checking base timing). Driving around with disabled spark advance will cause a sluggish/lazy acceleration.

Keep tabs on the operation of the engine. A few months ago a fellow had his whole dash light up like a Christmas tree, turned out to be something simple like a faulty ground on the dash circuit.

I wouldn't replace the ECU just yet.

Hi friends!
thank you all for your responses, well I did the reset on the ECU,
I drove my car for like 20 minutes, no light went on, but again 2 hours later when I went home the light went on, I jumped the ECU while parked with engine off and the mil light stayed on no blinks.

unplugged the jumper and plugged it on my ECU drove my car again for 30 minutes and no light at all,

maybe my ECU it's bad, or I've got bad electrical wiring or something right?
