Rear strut problems 2000 honda civic lx
ok i installed some quick struts on my rear that i got off ebay. The problem is theres a rattling coming from both sides mostly when i hit small bumps.I even replaced the camber arms and trailing arms and they still rattle like a sob. i made sure everything was tight. Has anyone had this problem before? defective quick struts? or did i miss something and its lose? the sound comes from the top area as it was a bad mount? more of a rattly clunk. anything will be helpful because my next step is get some quick struts from advanced auto parts lol

its the mount spring and strut pre assembled. you just swap out the old one for the entire new assembly saves you like 45mins and a chance to break your arm or face lol

Pretty much what he said, it's a Monroe trade name. They're complete junk though. I'd go with a good quality shock like OEM, KYB, Koni or Tokico and reuse the stock springs, it's more work and takes longer but you'll get a better ride and they'll last a lot longer.

You replaced the upper control arm and is it loose? Did you strip it? The two 14mm bolts? I stripped both bolts and it's rattling. I can hear it. So it's loose.

nah cars not lowered its a daily driver and theres no need for me to lower it. i think the mounts maybe are bad because the rattle comes from the top and its on small bumps only. i checked all the bolts there still tite.I replaced everything in the rear suspention but the lower control arms but the noise comes from the top so i think maybe i should pull out the entire strut assembly and take it apart and see whats going on
