i know it goes intake manifold-fitv-iac-thermostat?

ok you guys are probably wondering why im having trouble with this. removed the f22a4 from the cb7. installed a 30k miles f22a. which has the f22a6 lower runners and the h23 upper plenum and throttle body. the fitv is on the bottom of the tb instiead of the plenum like it is on the f22.

wow for some reason i just could not find this picture.

perfect diagram.

i have one more nooby question. the h23 throttle body has the fitv on the bottom of it. trying to figure out which nipple is the entry point for the coolant.

there is a nipple facing out towards the passenger tire and another facing the bumper.

diagram of h22 coolant passages would be awesome mister touring

once i get it completely figured out ill post a picture of the h23 plenum, h23 throttle body, f22a6 manifold coolant hose layout

h23 coolant diagram

f22a6 coolant diagram

ok so basically what im seeing is that on the h23 the fitv and the iac are not hooked together in any way while on the f22a6 coolant fflows from one to the other . got a f22a ecu thats gonna be running.

hoe do i route these coolant hoses

the only difference I see is where the fitv is placed and like you said that the two aren't directly connected. I would set it up just like the H23 coolant diagram, otherwise you'll end up with an open nipple under the egr and an open hose.

got it started today with the h23 coolant diagram. didnt let it run long enough for it to warm up. rpms were bouncing between 2500 and about 900. which means the fast idle valve. i remember specifically making sure the fitv valve plastic screw wasnt loose. guessing the different coolant hose wiring messed with something?

gonna attemp switching the routing back to the f22a coolant diagram where the bottom coolant line goes through the fitv and the iac and back into the thermo on the side and then the top coolant hose goes back to the top of the thermo. wish me luck

I would check the IACV and for vacuum leaks first.

got too drunk last night and switched the coolant hoses anyways. still have not tried to start it yet though.

dont feel like searching out that silly o ring the iac uses. ill just clean off the o ring and use a small bead of gasket maker around it to make sure its sealed. i usually do it this way due to simplicity/quickness and and its easy stuff to remove when i do get an o ring

ill chime in when i 100% figure out which coolant hose system to use

thanks guys

ok guys rerouted the hose diagram to the h23 setup and also used some rtv to make sure the ports were sealed properly. started her up and now getting a slow bouncing idle. didnt let it warm up to see if it changed since i obviously have an air leak or problem with the fitv. will respond with any more news or problems i find

still not sure if using the h23 routing diagram is the way to go but im gonna stick with it for now.

feel free to throw some opinions. still gotta finish the wire tuck...lazy.zzz

When you pulled the IACV you did clean it out with some carb cleaner right? spray the screens in there and make sure they are clean.

Have you double checked all your vacuum hoses? Make sure none are dry rotted, cracked, split or otherwise leaking air.

sorry to ask again but you haven't specifically stated if you've done this or not.

yes i have done all this after switching back to the h23 coolant diagram. i think there is still air in the lines. been trying to get it all out today. still have a slow bouncing idle. tried blocking each hole in the tb while running and it still bounces just at lower rpms. cleaned the iac and also made sure the two ports were sealed with gasket maker.

still some bubbles coming out when running with cap off. gonna just keep repeating bleeding procedure til all the air is out. anyone ever had trouble with bisimoto im gasket leaking?

i reset the ecu also with no change to the erratic idle. plugged the air boost valve also to rule it out.

got some wires tucked though. this is quite aggravating considering just switching back to the f22 upper manifold

small update:

found a small air leak in an egr port plug. reset ecu and started it up. goes up then falls down once then sits at regular fast idle for about 45 seconds. then proceeds with the bouncing slow idle. gonna remove the upper plenum and make sure there is nothing loose or air leaks anywhere today.

**for grabriel: most auto parts stores sell lengths of hosing

^^^updates^^^

edit:
-found a loose fitv screw so far.
-switching iacs also. my spare looks newer
-found on intake manifold mounting nut thats stripped onto the stud. obviously probably not providing a good seal. will be using a dremel and or grinder to savhe down the nut and then a hammer with chisel to break it. then will be removing the stud hopefully without having to remove the intake manifold
