My 91 Honda Civic EF9 build thread
So first off i would like to tell you all that i live in Jamaica, and i apologize for my grammar...I finally decided to do a build thread, but its been four years since I have the car and a lot of history which i cant bother get into, and i'm sure you don't want to sit and read...so i going summarize it:-
Went to a housing complex saw the car, looked at it...was in pretty bad shape with all tires flat and color burned out, asked the owner how much.....said $250,000.00 (which is about $2,942 US) ahh i took the number and left....really wanted a EF Civic but couldn't find any so i decided to call back the owner, after couple no no no s and a hell no! I bought the car.......for $90,000.00 ($1,059)
THIS IS WHAT IT LOOKED LIKE, MINUS THE RIMS (BLUE)
AND THE REASON I BOUGHT IT WAS BECAUSE OF THIS
NOT KNOWING ABOUT THIS, OR WHAT IT MENT
I PUT ON EIBACH COIL OVERS,TOKICO SHOCKS AND CHANGED THE RIMS (have to thank Gary Barrett from Cayman, helped me out a lot with things for this car)
For a SiR it was scrapped nothing left on it...no side skirts, back lip, seats, floor mats, back tray....so the hunt was on. I use to live at Superior looking for parts. the first thing to go where the seat cause they were torn and by chance i found the exact pair...
MINUS THE BACK HEAD RESTS...THOSE CAME WAY AFTER
I GOT THIS...(Superior)(not actual ones taken off the net just to show you)
THIS...(Superior)
Took me for ever to find this...one that came in the car was broken in three places
THIS....(Superior)
THIS....(couldn't find this anywhere, Mr. Barrett brought it down from Cayman for me)
THIS...(i got these off of the black Dover Race EF9 from Cayman (Mr. Barrett)
THIS...(not regular, these have to fit over the side skirts...its all about the right original parts NO after market and fixing something to make it work)
THIS...
THIS...
didn't know about this until a friend of mine got a car with the original rubber one, so i started looking out for one. One day i was on the mall and saw a EF with it on it, so.........i kinda sat and waited on the owner to come back....after about a hour or two he finally did. after a little negotiating and stuff i ended up buying it from him and screwing it off his car on the spot
THIS...
A rare original EF "dash mat" accessory i managed to find....they say its EFs "cupholder"
This....original EF window visors with "civic"
i was at Superior and waiting for them to empty the container.....with hearing that there were EF parts inside i offered to help and when i saw the doors i found these on them in perfect condition and bought them
SIDE SKIRTS....(Superior)
so after i got ALL those things i had parked the car from September 08 and took my time stripping the cars interior down and taking out the engine...with help from the manual i ending up dong everything myself (guess thats why it took so long)...bagging and labeling every nut and bolt, yea i had to put everything back EXACTLY where they came from. Hate when they fling everything into a paint can or some crap they find....
So after i was done i carried the strip car to the body man.....here are some of the pics:-
got it back...about November 2009 and started fixing her back up
yyeaaah yo i got back a cover for it...didn't spray it
took awhile...and was in a rush kinda to get the car up and running. hated seeing it just sitting there....so i called in help. while they were putting in the engine i was fixing up back the interior
after many long nights and intsalling everything i had under my bed the interior was finally finished...
the only thing that isnt OEM is the steering wheel....and i do need back a Momo horn button so if anyone has one sellling PM me

Looks good!! I wish I could find mint seats & carpets and other parts like you did. Around where I live it's rare. I have the same white EF Hatch and also a fan of trying to keep everything OEM. Keep us updated on the build.

lol. a little bizarre how you waited for the owner of the rubber dash mat to buy it off him. but..i guess your persistence paid off.

That is a giant steering wheel, you have so little leg clearance. If you are considering any type of racing, good luck with heel-toes. lol.

This was a great find and a steal of a price, would have cost at least 4 times that around here or more. Keep up the good work.
