The fuse is in the driver's kick panel. Inside the fusebox cover is a map that will show which is the wiper fuse. It should be a dark green, 30 amp fuse.
Do the windshield washers work?

Then the fuses are good. Can you hear the motor running if you put your ear next to the base of the driver's side wiper? It's not very loud, but if it's running you should be able to hear it.

the slowest setting is the one that dosent work in other words
1st click (slowest setting)- nothing
2nd click -works
3rd click (fastest setting) - works

Yes, #12:
The nylon ball socket breaks out of the steel rod and the rod just falls down. I found a good one at a junk yard for my car, but some were already broken. Use two flat head screwdrivers to evenly lever the junk yard rod off of the wiper motor ball so you don't break a good one you find.
Oh, and you may want to take pictures of the wiper linkage at the junkyard before you take the rod off. It helps to get the assembly put back together right.

Re: 1996 Accord wipers don't work
I'm having a similar issue...I dont feel its the column switch...and my fuse is fine...the washer pump works.
I'm going to check and see if I can hear the wiper motor...then I'll resort to replacing part number 12 if I can hear the motor actually working!
Thanks for the advice...I'll update once I figure this issue out.

Re: 1996 Accord wipers don't work
So I have determined that my wiper combo switch is working properly and I can audibly hear the wiper motor function when the key is in the 2nd position and the engine is off...it even gets louder and faster when the wiper switch is in the fastest speed setting.
This leads me to believe that something in the linkage is broken..possibly part # 12 and #11? are they connected or seperate? Does part # 12 have the "plastic/nylon pivot" included at the end? I guess I wont know until I take the wiper cowl off asap.

Yes.
BTW, I replaced mine with a junkyard part and that one broke a few months later. Online parts vendors charge ~$25 (shipped) for this part new vs. $5 or $10 for a used one at a junkyard. I'm getting a brand new one.

Re: 1996 Accord wipers don't work
So I ended up purchasing a complete new linkage.
The problem I'm having is once I installed the new linkage the wipers were turning toward the wiper cowl first and not up to swipe the windshield.
Could the wiper motor possibly be bad? I have no clue why it would turn the opposite direction when with the old linkage it worked perfectly???
Any input would help drastically! I really need to get this car inspected asap!
thanks!

Re: 1996 Accord wipers don't work
Well I dont feel that the motor is bad, since it properly swept the windshield when I got the old broken rods to briefly stay on.
Is there a particular procedure to installing the wiper motor on the linkage?
when I installed it, I aligned the arrow on the bracket which connects to a rod, and the three lines on the linkage...but once I installed the arrows automatically started facing the opposite direction and not the lines????
any ideas!!

The motor has to be "parked" before you put the arms back on. If not, it will try to park and the blades will go backwards. Leave the arms off, turn the wipers on then off, then install the arms.

Re: 1996 Accord wipers don't work
The wipers will not stop working unless you fiddle with the control, and then you have to make sure that the wipers are not in the middle of the windshield but at the bottom. Any suggestions??
