Default Bumper to fender bolt/screw

Does any body know any tricks to get the plastic grommet to stay in the fender so you can use the OEM phillips screw to hold the bumper to the fender?
The plastic grommet I am talking about is number 11 in this picture

My driver side fender was using some crappy metal bracket which rattled and didn't hold the bumper on close enough to the fender. So I bought a new plastic grommet/screw so I could put it the bumper on the OEM way like the passenger side, but I can't get the plastic grommet to stay in the hole.

Anything else? I don't want to jump into putting superglue on my fender unless its my last option.

With that piece on the front it kept popping out so I zip-tied it until I could figure out something better. Didn't like having to do it but 2 of them hold on pretty well and isn't permanent.

make sure the lip on the fender is flush with the bumper, then get yourself some stainless steel bolts and nuts, use washers on both sides.

I have basically my whole front end zip tied and you arent even able to tell the diffference. Get the heavy duty black ones with the metal lock and youll be good!!! Dont use the cheap white ones you can see and they arent as durable. Atleast until you figure what else to do,but ull prolly end up leaving it! Human instict

You used an actual nut? Thats kind of hard to have to hold that with a wrench while you are tightening the bolt, since the area is pretty tight to work in. Most people use the metal bracket with the nut welded onto the back, like in the OEM lip hardware kit.

then if you dont wanna do that option then why dont you buy the OEM hardware kit..duh

theres so many options out there on what to do..the little white plastic peice isnt gonna last for ever..mine eventully started coming out as well and all i did was use the nut and bolt option..its not hard at all to get in there and tighten it up if you kno what your doing

yeah if you take the corner light out, its easy as hell to get at it.. I just went for the zip tie since its easy to cut it out if you need to get your bumper off, lol

also turn the wheel inwards so you can get more leverage if you wanna use bolts/nuts..and zip ties are easy as hell to..5 screws up top..2 bolts on bottom and 2 snips on the sides and there you go the bumper is off less then 3 mins

The more you screw the screw in, the better the plastic clip holds. Might want to make sure the fender tab that it goes in isn't bent. If it is, bend it back

Yeah thats one of my problems. My fender tab is so mangled. Its just just a staight tab thats bent down. Bending it back still leaves it almost like a piece of paper that was once crumbled. I can't figure out how to straighten it completely since I only have a needle nose plier.

Just use a ziptie. I used a huge plier that exhaust shops use and got mine somewhat straight, but it still wanted to pop out with my fiberglass bumper
