What is wrong with the motor you currently have? If it is blown the best option would be to rebuild it or swap in another H22. I wouldn't recommend swapping any of the other engines you listed into a 98 prelude. What are your goals with this car? The search feature is your best friend if you are new to this area.

Re: prelude engine swap
From a prelude owner, how did you get a b16 from all of this?
If your motor blew, you can use any f-series, h-series, k-series, or J-series. As long as you have the money, anything is possible. Well if you want to just slapped it on with nothing to change, get yourself another h22.

Re: prelude engine swap
my motor has over 150,000 miles on it and if i rebuild it i will spend just as much as buying a new one and i cant replace everything so it wouldnt be as good as a newer motor or one with less miles on it and i just would like the best motor overall that i could get ,the b16 in my opoinin is the best motor out there that honda made but there hard to find thats where i got that from.

Start here, look at the motors that came in the '98: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_P...2.80.932001.29
I just have a couple questions:
First: What's wrong with 150K on a Honda motor? Why do you think you need a rebuild? There are plenty of Honda motors still running around with 200-300K from the early 90's.
Second: Do you know what motor is in YOUR car?
Third: why would you want to put a smaller motor [B16] into any car?
To be helpful though, what you are going to want for a Prelude swap is one of the following: H23, H22A, F20B, or K20. Which one you want is going to based on why you're doing the swap. If you just want a B16 cause its "baawller!!", rethink your swap, do research on what fits right in. I've provided the basics below.
The H and F blocks are "generally" drop ins, pull yours, drop the new one in. The worst you should have to do is add/lengthen a couple wires, maybe match up motor mounts using mounts from another H or F block, I've seen weirdness with the F22 tranny mount into an H23 4th gen.
The K blocks require at the minimum changing the motor mounts, finding the right axles, fixing up the OBD2+ wiring to your car, possibly changing the wheel spindles/hubs and suspension to match up with the axles. I'm not sure of the specifics with the K, I just know its been done.
Hope that clears a couple things up.

Re: prelude engine swap
If you do not understand what a turbo charged motor consists of, then you should not attempt it until you have done the proper research and talked to the local tuners in your area who will help you keep your motor alive.
It does not matter what motor you use, adding a turbo changes everything.
So google turbo's and their purpose and then google, how to turbo charge any motor, then separately google turbo requirments for turbo charging H series motors.
Then you will know what you will need. And by the way, the google searches will more than likely send you back to thread that have been posted here on Honda-tech or preludepower.com.
