its not hard to do.. theres a inverted hex head bolt on the bottom of the trans on the passenger side. put your ratchet in it and take it out.. drain the fluid. you'll get about 1/3 of the fluid out. you can either drive around and do it 3 times in total or get it flushed or just do 1/3 and have fresh fluid at least. There is no filter that is serviceable externally, and refill through the dipstick

I thought you could also just drain the tranny pan all together and replace the filter

I'm pretty sure its 3/8" ratchet. The bolt accepts the ratchet directly, no sockets. Plug in and wrench away, don't forget to get a new crush washer before you start.
Nope. There isn't a removable transmission pan. There is a drain plug, and the filter is a small screen buried inside the transmission attached to the valve body, which is located between the gear set and torque converter. No way or need to clean it.
Remember, Honda ATs are more like MTs, rather than a clutch and shift forks, there is a torque converter and clutch packs. No planetary gearset voodoo in these transmissions.

First make sure the ratchet is seated all the way in the drain bolt, to make sure tap the ratchet lightly into bolt. Now, with both hands, use a pulling motion on the ratchet handle.
Good luck.
Good luck.

I'd also try some liquid wrench before you do it instead of just wd-40...
There is a little trick we do with our cars when changing the trans fluid..
1. Look up total capacity
2. Drain from the trans pan, but collect into a used oil galon jug or tie jug...anything that can tell you how much you drained..
3. Fill back up the same amount of fluid lost
3. There will be fluid left in the torque converter that you didnt get to, to get this all out you can either run the car for a bit again and drain as before,
OR
Disconnect the ATF cooler hose from the radiator.. Connect some tubing or hose to it and run the other end to a collection bottle..
Start the car and drain about 2 qt's.. Top up, and do this about 3 or 4 times.. When you are done you should be very close to 100% new fluid
PS. You can do this way from the start if you truly can't get the drain bolt out
Finally, use Honda ATF, these trannys can be sort of picky sometimes..
