Default Car not starting. Clutch switch or starter? Help

1997 Civic Hatch with B18C GSR engine. Runs fine and is BAR'd in Socal. Something strange has been happening recently, but not often. The car doesnt start all of the time. I press the clutch, turn the key, then nothing. I don't even hear the starter cranking. Everything else seems to go like the humming of the fuel pump, dash lights, and stereo. Doesn't seem like an electrical problem. I'm thinking a bad clutch switch, or starter. What do you think?

Start by check whether the rubber stopper that presses on the switch is damaged.

Thanks guys. I'll have a look this weekend. Is there a reason for 2 clutch switches? To bypass, just jump the 2 wires leading to the switch, right?

The upper switch is for the starter and the lower one is for cruise control.

Don't permanently jump the starter switch connector. It's unsafe. Start by checking the rubber stopper and whether it is adjusted properly for the pedal height.

When you turn the key to ON(III) to start the engine and it doesn't crank, do you still hear the starter solenoid click? If so, your starter may be on the way out.

No. I don't hear the starter solenoid click. Completely silent with the excpetion of the fuel pump. I guess I wouldn't have to worry about the CC switch. The ECU is putting out P1456 and P1457. I wouldn't think this would have to do with anything I'm experiencing, right?

It could be your coil. I had mine go out around 120k and it had the same symptoms you're seeing.
