I have a 1998 honda accord lx 4cyl and i need a transmission filter. Are the transmission filters serviceable and if not what do you recommend? Please Help!!!!

To get to the transmission filter, you have to disassemble the entire transmission...
If you already have the transmission down, then its good to change it...

If not, what I recommend is a 3/8" Magnefine In-Line transmission filter

Yup, they are pretty much considered "non-serviceable" due to what nicolaselias said.

I would use the product he recommended as they do work well. I plan on getting one of those and a tranny cooler sometime!

However, how has your transmission been maintained? Generally, most people follow the 3 drain/refill method. Drain your transmission fluid, refill, and drive 50-100 miles and repeat 2 or 3 times. With that being said, ONLY use Honda transmission fluid.

Ya inline filters are a good idea on Honda automatics since they don't have a pan to drop.

nicholaselias, if i get that put on will that help the transmission fluid to flow through to the transmission. Are those easy to put on and how do you put it on?

They are super easy to put on..
You cut the rubber transmission line, and the filter literally slides onto the line, then you clamp the two ends with metal hose clamps... Then your done!

When last did you change transmission fluid? You may want to do that as well if you havent in a while..

It's not going to fix the jerking problem you describe in your other post.

The jerking problem is caused by the middle screen in the torque converter control solenoid being clogged with the trash from the bottom of the transmission fluid reservoir.

If you remove it make sure you have a new gasket handy.
