Carpet Dye Vs. Buying Black carpet
I have an EG with stinky grey carpet, i want black carpet. Would it be easier and more cost efficient to clean my carpet and bye it with a bottle of black dye? or should just buy someone elses?

Try RIT dyes. Not expensive but the result is not equal to what you think it will be. If you're trying to get black you'll only succeed in getting maybe a dark charcoal gray. My wife dyes fabrics all the time.

NOOOOO. do NOT use rit dye. Honda carpet is Plastic fibers!
and dont get aftermarket carpet... that's ghey, I don't care what anyone says about it, it's never going to satisfy you unless you just don't care about your honda.

Re: Carpet Dye Vs. Buying Black carpet
i dyed my grey carpet black using rit dye and a big plastic tub for my EG
the carpe came out pretty good, i used 2 bottles of rit, bought some cleaner and such to clean it before hand
the only bad part about the carpet is the plastic trim at the bottom of the door jamb is like held in by clips you will most likely break off, if those arent fixed your carpet will pull back around the door jamb

Re: Carpet Dye Vs. Buying Black carpet
it all depends if money is no object to you, if it is like me take the carpet to the car wash spray it go to autozone and get the carpet spray i think duplicolor makes it and spray it last a long time just makes the carpet a little crunch but u wont see it

Re: Carpet Dye Vs. Buying Black carpet
Yea, thats the stuff. It works best of you REALLY clean the carpet out. I then laid the carpet out and did one light coat, let dry, ran my fingers through the fibers to break up the "crunchyness" and then applied another thin coat, and repeated several times. Carpet came out very nice and was not a big block of "crunchy" fibers...

Re: Carpet Dye Vs. Buying Black carpet
I'd rather rock no carpet, OEM or nothing!
No, please do. I was being serious, actually, as I've been looking into it. Issues with fit, quality...?
2. Aftermarket doesn't fit right. They're only "generally" molded. Not Exact.
3. Aftermarket carpet doesn't have holes cut out already. So if you don't already have some of the OEM carpet laying around to use as a template. your screwed.
4. OEM is Best. and JDM is even better, because Japan kept almost all the cool high end goodies for themselves. That's a huge reason ppl go after and spend $$$ on jdm parts. There's no better quality.
5. you can find a good used carpet. it's possible.
6. I just Pm'd you to help you out.
