How much transmission fluid after a change?
I have a 95 Accord LX. I drained the transmission fluid and I,m wondering how much to put in. My chilton manual says 5 quarts but that's for a dry trans. I have done this once before, when I filled it up it took about 3 quarts. So I,m just trying to confirm that 3 is not too much.

If this is a manual transmission, pour your MT fluid until it runs out of the filler hole.
Automatic I'm not sure.

Re: How much transmission fluid after a change?
it's 3qts - 12oz. (2 5/8 qts or 2qts 20oz) i know that seems like a weird way to say it but when you're pouring out of qt sized containers with oz. graduations on the side.. it makes sense. i always leave 12oz in the first bottle in case of mistakes. then pour the other two in.
so putting 3qts in you're only over filling by 12 oz. not such a huge deal. how's the dipstick read?
