2001 Honda Accord metal grinding
I have a 2001 Honda Accord V6 EX 4-door(Sedan) and this morning when I pulled out of the garage I heard a horrendous metal grinding noise. It was loud and sounded as though I was dragging a piece of metal underneath my car. It made the noise reversing out of the garage and I slowly drove forward and the noise continued. I looked underneath the car multiple times to see if I was dragging anything and their was nothing. I popped the hood to check the belts and everything seemed fine (it idled without any abnormal noises). So the grinding continued until I left the parking lot and accelerated to 20-25 mph and than ran normal. I went to work for a couple of hours and let the car sit and testing it by driving around the parking lot and it ran just fine. I live in Michigan so I am thinking the cold, sporadic weather may play a roll. My car stays in a garage overnight and sits out in the cold weather during the day when I am at school and work. I talked to a friend who suggested that it may be the clutch just rubbing due to the shift in cold damp weather to my garage at night. Any ideas? Should I get this checked out immediately? It only happened once thus far, I just don't want it to become a bigger issue if unattended.
Other info: I do not believe it is the brakes or rotors because I changed those this summer, also the car has around 150,000 miles on it.

Re: 2001 Honda Accord metal grinding
have they been throwing salt down on the ground? whats the weather like a lot of snow down? it could be the brakes. your talking about heated brakes when driving, salt on metal, then sit and cool together in the garage overnight. just because you changed the brakes doesnt mean it isnt that. but it also doesnt mean the brakes are damaged either. just that because of the conditions of the streets and weather it can cause problems.

Yes there has been plenty of snow on and off and salt is put on the roads to clear them. So if salt is the problem you think it is salt between the rotors and pads? If so, will I need to replace them again if the problem persists?

I am betting you're caliper or calipers are locking up, to check lift the front end put vehicle on jack stands and look for any signs of of your tires not spinning freely.
I had this happen to me it would happen intermittently until the inner side of the pad was bare metal causing metal to metal scrape.
I have heard people saying there wheel or rotor IIRC would glow red hot because of dragging calipers.
If this is your issue your brake lines are bad.
Anyway something to ponder.
