ex vtec oil control orifice?
95 ex single overhead vtec basically f22b1. We broke timing belt so it bent 2 exhaust valves, tore the head off it I dont see the oil control orifice in the block. Went to majestic site they show on diagram but look at number and it not for sale. Go lx for same year it shows same part number and drop down to the list it is for sale. So I call local honda and they say according to there film its not available for lx but it is for ex, backwards from majestic site. My question is this oil control orifice suppose to be in the ex single overhead vtec block or just the lx block? Is the ex oil controlled by the vtec solenoid on the cylinder head? The car has ran great for the last 2 yrs. Any help or input is appreciated.

Re: ex vtec oil control orifice?
The Non VTEC F22B2 block (lx) uses the oil control orifice and O-Ring. The VTEC F22B1 block (ex) does not use these items.
Not quite sure what else controls the oil on the B1 other than the oil pressure relief valve and the pump itself.

Re: ex vtec oil control orifice?
We have 5 accords in the family and its not the first time I have done something with heads, whether a blown head gasket or broken timing belt. My own accord 370,000 miles broke a belt once with bad water pump, anyway I have always seen that oil control orifice. It threw me off not seeing it on this engine and then looking at majestic site and talking to dealer got more confusing. So the dealer microfiche is wrong, they say lx dont take it and ex vtec does. Majestic microfiche is correct ex does not take orifice lx does take orofice.
