Ok ive noticed recently on my b18c swap that when i first go down the road from start up it would bog like either it was out of gas or like it pulled a ton of timing through the ecu. Its a smooth major loss of power, but then if i press the gas pedal it jerks and comes back to the normal power, sometimes it does it sometimes it doesnt, its intermittent.
No CELS at all any guesses? Could this be the MAP sensor?

Weird.. have you done the basics like a compression test, plugs wires ect?

Might be the TPS... I am having this problem and am actually running fine with it unplugged until my replacement arrives from eBay. Try removing the plug from the TPS and drive it around the block. The CEL WILL come on. Also, are you running a chipped ECU or and OBD 2 to 1 adapter harness?

I am running a virgin stock P72 (gsr ecu) obd1 no conversion harness, i swear its like a sensor or something. Today it bogged one time then it was fine the rest of the way to work.

I haven't currently done the plugs or wires yet, i don't have any reason the believe it to be any of those problems as of yet, im thinking a sensor or something considering it isn't a constant but thats coming down the pike if i dont get a reply from someone who knows for sure, ill try the TPS sensor first.

If it is the TPS like I suspect, it will get worse. With my car, it only did it once or twice at first and then started to do it almost every time I drove the car, especially annoying when trying to pass on the freeway. As I said, I unplugged it, and it drives fine, slight loss of fuel economy, I am down from 35mpg to 30mpg, but it runs great( I have a B16B so we have similar motors overall design wise)

Until you get it replaced, just unplug it

did you ever find out what it was? i have a b18c also and it started doing this, and now its been way more often...im running on a stock obd2 ecu .

Well, in my case, it was the TPS. I unplugged it and it now runs like normal. I am waiting on my replacement to come from eBay, but it has not yet arrived

I also have another problem :/ ... mine won't go past the 5,000 rpm mark? I've been told its cus I need to change my ecu to a obd1 p72... idk could this have to do also with the on/off jerking of my car? Lol I am new to this and I hate going to places and finding out... ppl try rippin me off since I'm a girl!!!

That is a bit beyond me, I would suggest starting with removing the TPS first

I missed that one about the ECU. You will definitley need to get a chipped OBD1 P72, a P28 works as well( that is what I have). If you try to rev past 5 grand, you run the risk of blowing the motor... Just find a reputable shop to do the work or look on craigslist, given that you are in SoCal, finding an ECU and having it installed should be easy.
