What are the symptoms of a bad pressure plate?
This is what's going on
In the morning my clutch dosent have that much pressure when I push the clutch pedel down until the car warms up and then some pressure builds up.
And then when I drive it in 1st and 2nd gear it pulls good until I hit 3-3500 rpms then after that the rpms just go up and dosent pull that great..
Any ideals on what that could be?
Feel free to ask any questions
Also from what the previous owner told me
He put a exedy stage 1 clutch new slave and master cylinder

after 3500 rpm do the rpms go up faster, but the car isnt going as fast as it should?
If so then that is a symptom of a fried clutch.
But since you say he put in new clutch, idk, maybe he lied.

What's some good ways to see if the clutch is acutually going out or to even check and identify too see the clutch is an exedy clutch

Re: What are the symptoms of a bad pressure plate?
He could havej ust changed the clutch disk and left the flywheel/pressure plate. If that's the case, both those surfaces could be glazed which would result in the symptoms you're describing. But then again, a slipping clutch will do that too. Regardless, you'll be taking the tranny off so just replace clutch disk, pressure plate, throw-out bearing, and make sure the flywheel is resurfaced (or replaced for a lightweight one if you want).

he didnt have any paperwork to prove it so he could of lied for all i know.
but i never experinced a slipping clutch before so i wouldnt know if it loses it get up at 3300 rpm or what cause this is my first prelude.
anyways i tested it out today and i put it in first it pulled of good but once it started creaping up around 3300 rpm it wasnt pulling to good but when i jumped on the hwy i was in fit gear and at 3200 rpm i pushed the gas pedel down some and it pulled preaty fast and it went even a lil faster when vtec kicked in at 5500rpm

wanna test you clutch.
Go get a couple friend, have a full load in the car,
go on the free way, and when its slightly up hill put it in 5th gear going like 70mph and step on it.
if your rpms start going up but the car isnt speeding up then your clutch is fried.

A way to safely test it without trying to cram people in a Prelude is to put the car in fourth gear when it's not moving and engage your emergency brake as far as you can. Slowly give the car gas and let the clutch out like you want to go. If it does not stall right away, shut off the car immediately. This means the clutch is slipping. This is a common test I have heard of.
However, my car slipped in 4th and 5th gear on the highway, but stalled immediately during this test. It's still worth a shot, but don't let the clutch slip too much.

Do the above, OR you can strap it to something solid using some heavy duty ratchet straps or a recovery strap (best option), and again, put it in 4th and try to slip the clutch a bit while given it some gas. If the clutch is good, it will stall out. If the clutch is bad, the motor will keep on turning
