Default 93 accord clutch problem

Clutch has no resistance until the last little bit of the clutch. I can barely get the thing in gear even. I`m not sure what I need to do to fix this though. How do I know what needs to be replaced? Do I need to replace the whole clutch or would just changing the master cylyinder fix the issue?

Thanks for your help in advance guys.

Start with checking if you have enough fluid. If you do have enough, I'd start with adjusting the pedal free play. If not, you have a leak somewhere. Either refill it and bleed the system, which will fix it temporarily, or find the leaking component and replace it.

The reason you can't get it in gear is because the clutch is not releasing (it's still grabbing). A new clutch will do exactly the same.

Thanks bro, turns out the fluid was low. I`m just not sure why. I dont see any visible leaks. Also can I bleed it right off of the master cylinder? Looks like the easiest place to do it. Thanks again, I have never had to work on a clucth before. I learned a lot already.

Open up the bleeder on the slave and let it drain, making sure to not let the reservoir get empty. Or you could have someone push the pedal to the floor, after which you'd open the bleeder on the slave to let the fluid/air out; close the bleeder and repeat several times until clean fluid comes out (with no air bubbles).

I did what you said but now I cant get the clutch pedal to engage at all. The only resistence is the spring. I think the fluid level was already to low when I started this. yesterday the clutch had some resistence the last little bit. Today there was none. I am guessing i have to prime this somehow now?

hey mrfootball i am in the same position as you right now.. i haven't try bleeding the slave yet because the bleeder is rusted on there. I sprayed some penetrating oil and will try back in a few hrs. Ill check back here later

if there was barely any fluid in there before, and you kept trying to pump the pedal, all you were doing was pulling air then. It is going to take a while, but you will need to bleed it for a while until you get a steady stream of fluid, 0 bubbles. Check for leaks. Fluid doesn't disappear.
