Default engine bay

Shaving my bay.......I was told that if filler it used it WILL crack. It's seems impossible to get the welded holes to look right without using filler. has anybody done this with filler and had it not crack. It seems that with solid mounts and all the forces on the chassis it would crack. The mounts were pulling off the spot welds so there has to be some extreme flexing going on. I don't know....never got a straight answer from anybody that has ACTUALLY done this. After I make a decision about this ill finally post pics of the car . Thanks

Ive done mine with a fiberglass mixed filler over my welds, havent had a crack minus the one when my motor hit a spot. I have Hasport shelf mounts and full race traction bar with front engine mount.

dont try to lay a bed...use spot welds all the way around. once ur finished grind it nice and smooth. then apply wuts called "putty glaze".you can lay it alot smoother than regular bondo and it sands away alot easier. as long as everything is welded correctly it wont flex and crack. u can use 100 gritt to cut the glaze fast then use a 180 to smooth it all out. if u want u can use alittle mist of black spray paint to see the inperfections. after all the holes are done i would hit the whole engine bay with a nice high build primer. scuff it down and spray it.

I shaved the hell out of my bay. It's like glass. I haven't had any issues with mine yet. I am pretty sure we have similar setup's.
