Car wont start. Replaced fuel pump. Main relay?
Ok. 93 Del Sol S. Been having start issues for a good while. I drive 2 min to work everyday so ive been getting around the issue. It would start early morning, lunch (twice, home and back) then at 6 when I get off. Every time it would turnover but not start the first couple times. Eventually starting. If it was really hot outside, it wouldnt start. The first 6 or 7 times the fuel pump would prime then after so many attempts it stopped priming. A week ago, It started, then would stall at take off. After stalling, no start, no prime. Had to pop the clutch o a hill and actually push it alone about 50 yards up a slight incline. Anyway, I replaced the fuel pump bc i knew it was getting weak. It had over 200k on it. After the replacement i had a leak at fuel line. Fixed that. It was a washer issue. But the car still wont start. At all. Again, after so many starts, fuel pump wont prime. 10 tries or so. I unplugged the main relay, waited 15 sec. plugged back in. Fuel pump primed. No start. Second try, fuel pump didnt prime. Repeated, same outcome. Lol Im riding my bike to work fellas. Which aint bad but its getting old. Help?

I replaced the fuel pump about 5k miles ago. Again, fuel pump primes strong. After so many attempts it stops priming

Change the fuel filter in the front, when you're doing so, put in a fuel pressure gauge.
Make sure you're getting the correct fuel pressure at the filter/rail. It's about 45psi IIRC (might want to check on that).
Make sure it's a fuel problem, first, make sure when it's not starting you're not getting full fuel pressure at the rail. Fuel pressure gauges are cheap and easy to install. Just get some thread sealer to make sure it doesn't leak. If the fuel pressure is indeed low, it sounds like it's most likely a bad connection from the ignition to the relay, relay to the pump, relay to ground/common, or relay to power.

Getting fuel. The fuel filter is already new. I highly doubt thats it. Im getting pressure to the fuel rail. Loosened fuel line after priming and it spurted out. I took the bottom hose off the FPR and primed it, it didnt drip but i put my finger on the end and got fuel. Maybe FPR? Should it have enough fuel or pressure to atleast drip on its own? Again, have good pressure up to that point

Does anyone think its the main relay? Just looking for confirmation or realistic advice. Everything is hooked up fine correctly. Obviously getting air, getting fuel all the way down to fpr. no leaks. Its gotta be a bad part. Everything has over 222k. New fuel pump, Batt, Exhaust, pistons, one new rod. crankshaft. intake, wires, spark plugs, dizzy cap and rotor, stage 3 clutch, suspension, brake master Cylinder. So that is all the new stuff. Any ideas? I mean come, Im riding a bike to work lol

Do this:

And also check for spark when the engine won't start. If there's no spark, check the G101 ground attached to the thermostat housing. It should be clean and tight.

My 93 Sol did the same thing stalling all the time
After I replaced just about everything in the car , distributor, plugs etc.
I threw allot of parts at my car , spent way too much money
It turned out to be a dead ECU
at 17 years these p28 ECUs have a tendency to burn out literally
Try finding a friend with a p28 and swap it out
After I got another ECU (ebay used) my car has never run better
EDIT: WAIT you have a type S , it might be a different ECU

Re: Car wont start. Replaced fuel pump. Main relay?
Can you post pictures of your main relay circuit board? There know for the board soldering joints to break. All you need to fix it is a soldering gun. I can walk you threw it. If the main relay solder joints fail. It will keep the injectors from firing and sometimes the fuel pump from priming.

Ok guys, the MR is fine. It has the same priming issues even w/ MR unplugged. It primes first 10 tries or so but wont start. After attempting to start so many times, fuel pump fails to prime.... HELP. Im completely stumped on this one fellas
