Clutch is loose, won't go into gear - help
This morning when I go turn on my car, step on the clutch and it's loose... tried to put the car into gear with the motor on and it won't go. I stepped on the clutch repeatedly a few times and was finally able to get the car into gear, but still can't drive because it's barely separating from the flywheel, at least it feels that way, I would barely let go of the clutch and the car stalls. The car was driving fine the yesterday, this just kind of happened over night............. ? Could be something with the clutch cylinder.... I'm not very experienced with cars. Any help, advice, suggestions would be appreciated. Car is a 00 civic with b16 transmission, competition clutch.

Clutch slave cylinder, master cylinder, or pressure plate.
If you can see the slave cylinder moving the clutch fork on the front of the trans about 1/2", then the master and slave cylinders are probably okay. If it's not moving at all, you have a problem with the slave or master cylinders.

Thanks for the tips, I checked the slave cylinder and it wasn't moving much, I checked the fluid level in the reservoir and it was empty, so that was the problem.... I refilled it with brake fluid and the clutch feels normal now, but the question remains if there is a leak anywhere.
By visual inspection, I can't find any signs of leakage around the master, slave or clutch pedal area... the fluid shouldn't just disappear by itself.... or can it... over time....????? So two questions - Can you loose fluid level without having a leak??? And why was the clutch working fine just a few days ago on very low fluid??
Any help would be appreciated.

1. It doesn't just disappear. It would have to leak out somewhere. Into the cabin, into the master cylinder, past the slave cylinder seal, etc.
2. It just happened to get some air in the system from the fluid being low and it progressed from there. It's common for it to work fine, and then just change, as you described.
Fill it back up, bleed the system, top it off, and just watch for leaks or any foul play.
