There's little spring clip under the pedal.. It might be that need some lubricating..It wouldn't affect driving much. Just annoying squeaking..

use aerosol white lithium grease. it's good for springs and hinged joints because it goes on as a liquid then sets up thick to stay put and not drip off. i'm betting this is what the service manual recommends.

yep, white lithium grease fixed mine, now slave cyl makes noises cuz its dry where it meets the fork. i swear if its not one thing its the next..

the sqweeking i noticed it was outside the car. it sounded to me the slave cylinder was sqweeking inside the fork as it pushed out

On your civic how did you fix it? Did you end up replacing the master cylinder?
Did you ever get the slave sylinder noise fixed?

Yea its quiet now, i used synthetic bearing grease (pennzoil) and put some in between the fork and the slave cyl mating surface. I had this happen before on my old turbo hatchy and it was quiet for more than 4yrs
