are the rear drum brakes supposed to drag slightly?
I took the drums off to check the wear on the shoes. I put them back on and noticed they are dragging a bit. I went to adjust the parking brake and even when the bolt is all the way loose, the brakes still drag. Actually the parking brake was a little loose before. The service manual says the parking brake should be adjusted so there is no drag.
so is some drag normal? do I need to adjust something in the drum assembly to stop them from dragging?

also, one side seems to drag only during part of the rotation. does this mean the drum is warped and I need a new one?

there is supposed to be a slight drag nothing serious just a slight sound... your shoe could be off kilt a little or the drum isnt on right

i think i figured it out - i pushed the brake pedal while the drums were off and the thing self adjusted out. I found the adjuster bolt gear, turned it a few times, put the drum back on, and pumped the brake pedal to re self adjust. now it seems good.
