Default GSR in 99ek jerking and bucking during normal driving.

Recently this problem has begun to bug me a lot more than at first. I will be driving down the road, and rpm doesn't seem to matter nor does the selection of my gear but the car will suddenly begin to bog. When I give it 'gas' its a little less responsive untill I give it more and it aggressively jerks. I also noticed today that instead of increasing throttle that if I completely let off of it and then press the throttle again the issues goes away, until further down the road of course.

Cliff
normal driving.
car loses power/bogs.
go to accelerate and the car jerks.
let of throttle completely and problem goes away.

I have swapped the tps off with one I had laying around and no luck. I plan to tinker around with it tomorrow to make sure the TPS is 100% dialed in.

I have also swapped out the guts of the distributor, but I did not use a timing light to set the timing.

Im also under the assumption that perhaps the fact that its a GSR with a golden eagle intake manifold on a durrn p30 ecu that there maybe a chance I could just need a tune.

any help is very much appreciated.

sounds like a mount problem/ valve problem get all new mounts .. especially the one on the firewall. are you still using the gay oem mount or did u get the ones with brackets

its the ecu. you removed the secondary butterflys when you switched manifolds. the secondaries have a sensore as well, you need to tune the ecu or put the factory IM on

Yes,but it started pouring down rain so I didnt have the time to check it after I tightened up the screws. Ill be doing that today after work.

Its on a p30 B16 ecu,im getting a custom base map for the setup mid next week.

Any chance it could be the unused RPM wire since that is used on OBD1 cars but not OBD2. There was a thread about running the wires but it said that if not ran only signs would be a chance of the tach not working. (speed output pin number 9 on OBD1 distributor) Although im using a 99 si harness the wire to the ecu through the engine harness are non existent.

i set the tps at WOT to 4.5 volts. I also set the idle to about .49 volts but it made my car idle at about 250 rpm. So i raised the idle screw on the throttle lever untill my car idles back at 850-900. Ill know in the morning if the bucking continues.

I do not know what the idle voltage is anymore since I readjusted it just to allow my car to idle.

i had the same problem, but i noticed it jerked when i hit bumps, and violently was an understatement. i thought it was my tps and all that crap... but after i changed almost every sensor under the hood, i noticed the set of grounds that were supposed to be bolted down on the block just behind the passenger side of the head was super loose. everytime i hit a bump that ground would loose connection and it would feel like i was driving my car into a brick wall.. i dont get on here too much but i noticed ur havin almost the same problem i had and i know how bad it sucks...hope this helps

Seriously not trying to be rude but do not say retarded responses such as motor mounts or the clutch. Please read the described symptoms, its clearly electrical/sensor problem.

My main relay is going out and it'll do that once in a while for me. When my fuel pump didn't prime but eventually did, almost every time the car would do what you described. If it primed first try, it never did it

ehhh Ill look into that,it is a possibly. I actually changed out the distributor again for a known good one and it seems to have gotten better. Once I get it put on a proper basemap ill know the results for sure.
