Assuming the 5 digit code is correct, these are the instructions from the owner's manual:

You turn the ignition to accessory 'on' so the radio is on, then enter the code. Once the code works, you can turn it off. Even if the radio didn't accept the code after 3 tries, you do not have to leave it on.

No, you do not need to leave the key on with the radio for an hour. You only turn the ignition to accessory 'on' and the turn the radio on when you are entering the code.

Also, sometimes grime builds up around the buttons and they do press in that well. You might want to use a slightly moistened q-tip with rubbing alcohol to clean around the buttons first.

Press each button firmly; but not too fast or slow while entering the code.

Well, I guess the owner's manual for the CB7 does say to leave the radio on for an hour. When I had a 5th gen Accord, I never had to leave it on for an hour if it didn't accept it.

Wait a bit, and come back tomorrow when you're rested up and try again.

Press the buttons firmly; but, not to fast or slow.

You do need to leave the key in the accessory position with the radio ON (showing the word "CODE") for an hour before you attempt to enter the code again. I had the same problem (I was dyslexic when entering the code).

Yes, you have to wait that long. Driving around is OK, as long as the radio is on for an HOUR. Don't shut the power off before you enter the numbers.

or just disconnect the negitive battery cable for 30 seconds and it will accept 3 more codes.

I'll apologize ahead of time - what part of "you have to leave it on for an hour" don't you understand? Driving, not driving, driving then leaving it in the accessory position, it doesn't matter. As long as the radio is powered for at least an hour continuously, it will then let you enter the code. Stop trying to second guess it - just do it.
