kelsodeez road race crx build
my buddy gave me his old shell. him and i are bringing it back to life. more to come.
the shell
engine bay painted championship white. i may just do this color for the white on the body because it looks pretty good and i dont feel like screwing with a 3 stage paint.
re-powder coated the valve cover. if anyone needs cheap powdercoating for small items in the bay area, pm me.
LSD type r tranny
personal grinta steering wheel w/ a true grant quick release
hasport b mounts
fitting up the other side to the X. not welded in yet, but its almost there
F&F coilover and a turbo (my dogs name is turbo)
thats all for now.
a few new pixorz
UPDATE!!!
cleaned up the engine
got the seat and steering wheel in
had to fab up some brackets because the guy that had the car before me thought it was a good idea to take the stock ones out. i fitted up and designed the brackets and i had my buddy weld them in because i suck badly at welding.
its becoming a real car almost!
merry xmas to me! new tool box
finally put back the supercharger after i powdercoated the intake mani. still debating on wether or not to use it
got my dash from jegs in the mail today. its going to need some major trimming.
for some reason, the guy that had the car before me used a cutting torch on the upper strut plate.
cage is all wrapped up and the inside is almost ready for paint. probably a good 3-4 more hours of prep
so i made a plate. i still need to drill the holes in it and weld it in, but you get the idea.
i have a small update, and im kind of scratching my head at this one. i tried bolting up the engine mount to the engine and the way it sits is really crooked. the engine will tilted so far forward like this. anyone know whats up?
a few more pics of the supercharger. if any of you guys wants to buy it, ill cut you a sweet deal.
drilled and welded the upper strut mounts. didnt turn out as pretty as i had hoped but its strong as hell and a nice strut bar will cover all that nastyness.
tranny cleaned up
started primering the interior but more to see how much coverage i would get out of one can of the new high build primer from sem and to see any rough spots i missed sanding.
gas tank is welded shut. my buddy warped the sheet metal kind of bad so its going to take some banging and a nice skin coat of metal 2 metal filler to get it looking pretty again.
haha, the car is so damn light that it started teetering on the jackstands when we were putting the engine in, so we had to throw a 5 gallon bucket of silicon sealant and a bag of concrete to counter the weight. it was almost disasterous.
but.......THE ENGINE IS IN!!
fenders primed
header is in
gas door? we dont need no stinking gas door!!
finally painted the interior. i went with a gunmetal grey instead of the night hawk black pearl because the gunmetal was cheap and it looked good haha.
got the master cylinder in and took out the intake manifold.....=D
figured out where im going to mount the innovative hydro conversion unit.
powdercoated the seat brackets, pedals are in, template for the dash is fitted up and just laying out the wiring. plan ahead kids!
all the rivets are back in the fenders. ***** hard work!
<3 my car
<3 my shop
DA rear suspension is in
got my throttle bodies in, but the damn fuel rail didnt fit with the DA booster and master cylinder.
then my buddy came by and had a bright idea of turning the runners around and having the fuel rail on the top. so we did that and the brake fluid resevoir is in the way. so whats going to happen is i am going to plug up the inlet on that side and drill/tap a hole for the fitting so it comes out the rear of the rail instead of the side.
rear suspension is done (other than the ebrake cable and the toe kit needs to go in)
crazy toe. its maxed out and it still has like 2 inches of toe.
nice wide stance. lovin it
got the stock injectors in the itb's but it was mainly to see how the injectors fit. ill be switching to some rc 310cc
finally get to use my sweet *** lug nuts!
happy with how things are going tho
not that big of a deal, i know but...the car is on the ground for the first time in like 6 months!
had my buddy weld up all the misc. rivet holes on the body. now i just need to put some time into body work and its painting time!!

Re: my crx race car build thread
its actually john deere green and that **** has got to go! i am in the process of doing body work right now, but the interior is going nighthawk black pearl and the exterior is going to be, top half is going to be lexus starfire white with a satin clear and the bottom half is going to be nighthawk black pearl. the cutoff between those two colors will be the side moldings.
