Default wire OBD2 DLC connector into JDM car?

i have the opportunity to pick up a 2000 CTR that has a USDM engine and ecu in it.

now of course will all know this will not fly with an US based emissions facility since they cant communicate with the ecu (luckily im not in Cali, im in NY which is still kind of a pain but).

so has anyone seen an attempt to wire in the DLC connector? it doesnt sound impossible, probably just a pain in the *** since you would have to find all the wires in the dash harness...although it is only like 8 wires that need to be spliced in....

any input?

thanks

well i thought that the US was the only place that ever had the brilliant idea for OBD2, so i dont know why any jdm car would have a DLC?

i may be wrong tho...but i know the car doesnt have the DLC.

You can add the DLC to the car. Go and find one off an obd2 Honda or acura and IIRC its only 4 wires to connect. All the wires can be ran directly to the ecu, not somewhere in the dash harness like you think. If I get some spare time, I will go thru my notes to find the pinouts. I added a DLC to my obd2 converted 89 Civic.

Looked at dlc schematics and this is what I found for a 2000 civic. get a dlc and wire wht/red to fused hot at all times 7.5 amp circuit(interior lights). Both blacks to ground. The blue/ yellow stripe to A21 at the ECU(K line) The light blue ties in with SRS and ABS for communication with those systems To ABS control unit A14(lt blue) and SRS contol unit Pin 15. Hope this helps

Heres what I found in my notes, which is for obd2a. It may or may not help you with your CTR (which is probably obd2b?).

Wires coming from DLC:

Brown wire and black wire = ground
Wht/red wire = 12v (I tapped into ecu power)
Grn/wht = pin C8 (K line)
Lt Blu = SRS/ABS but I left it disconnected.

Between KWay and I, you've got both obd2 types covered.
