Loud screeching sound when i turn my car on...
So, every time I turn the car on, it makes this loud screeching sound. I have to keep turning the car off and on until it doesn't make it anymore.

are you doing it yourself? do you still have A/C and P/S? aftermarket the belts are around $15 a piece at NAPA, expect labor to be somewhere around 1 hour for all three (off the top of my head) if you are getting it done somewhere. Exact price will depend on the shops labor rate.

bump on the belts...
For all three belts you can expect it to be around 130-150 as long as you don't take it to the dealership garages.

Check the tension on your belts. The screeching means it's slipping; you can attempt to fix it by increasing the tension. For the alternator belt, you unbolt the alternator and slide it back. I just did this the other day and it changed it from screeching all the time to only screeching right after startup.
However, this is probably a sign that you need a new belt(s).

Definitely do it yourself, very easy, but somewhat time consuming because to replace the a/c belt, you have to remove a motor mount. But alt belt and a/c super easy.

yeah, not to mention if the damn alternator is somehow seized to the bracket and will not let the tension off the belt enough to get it off, i didn't think it could ever happen, until it happened to me. luckily i was already at work and my car was on the rack.

Luckily I adjusted my alternator the other day (tightened it) so I know it moves freely. It shouldn't be too hard, I'm just pale as hell and it's 90+ outside.

my car has been making a belt squeak so I bought bekt dressing and it stops it for a bit but it will come back. I think i either need new ones or somthing because it goes away after spraying on the belt dressing

They make a belt conditioner and you can purchase it at local auto parts stores. Works pretty good.

Lol over 110 on a daily basis here. The garage is actually hotter cuzz the air stays still. Arizona sucks. To the OP just DIY. You will have to learn how to work on your car at some point, and with the help of this website you'll be building motors in no time...seriously though at least give it a shot.

Dont pay anyone to do it. Get a good metric socket set and ratchets, extensions, a breaker bar, etc. Get a Haynes manual. The alt and ps belts are super easy. AC belt just support the oil pan with a block of wood. Remove the bolt on upper driver side motor mount and remove the torque mount underneath the frame. raise motor an inch or so and loosen belt tensioner.

you dont even need to mess with the upper mm, u can just unbolt the lower and slip it through the small gap. I managed to.

I did mine today in the garage where it was probably mid 80's...still sweated like a pig. But I got my belt on, no more screeching yay!
