P-Power Train
1-Manufacturer Specified Code (Honda)
3-Ignition System, Misfire
6-Component or Sub-System Section
1-Component or Sub-System Section

P1361 is: Intermittent Interruption In TDC 1 Sensor Circuit
Check the out the TDC sensor, connector 124 (gray and on the distributor) check power and grounds. It's missing signal from the TDC sensor in the distributor and causing a misfire.

It's either the wiring or a bad ecu. Ecu's rarely have issues so you gotta get the schematics and trace the wiring from the ecu to the distributor. All connectors, all grounds and all the wires. The codes states that it's an intermittent loss of sensor signal, definitely sounds like wiring. Check for the obvious visual stuff first, as you said you have already, corrosion, any cuts or holes in the wiring insulation and then start using a multimeter to check the voltage drop, continuity and resistance for all the connectors and wiring.

As far as the swap went, what engine harness and ECU are you running?

So your using a 94 F22b engine (OBD1) and it's OBD1 harness on the 96 (OBD2) ECU? Wouldn't that cause problems? Are you using a conversion harness or something?

We are getting the P1361 error even after replacing the distributor. Grrr. My husband says that the 96 Honda Accord TDC sensor is actually IN the distributor. However, this forum seems to disagree. Can you please clarify where the TDC sensor is in a 96 Honda Accord? My husband seems to think the location of this sensor was different in the 94-96 Accords.

Hopeful,

Gwen

P.S. Its a V6 2.7. To clarify my husband says the 95-97 models came with the TDC sensor actually IN the distributor.
