Default Driver side axle removal....help?

Anyone got a trick for pulling the driver side axle out of a B-series tranny? Pass. side was a breeze, but cant get this driver side out for the life of me. Tranny is a USDM ITR LSD tranny.

Pry it. You can try rotating the axle. I was told that eventually you will find a sweet spot and it will pop out.

just take it out with the intermediate shaft...three 14mm's. if you're changing the axle, might be easier to separate the cv from the half shaft with it out of the car.

no, leave it in the car.

Just use a small sledge and whack the inner joint as straight on as possible,. Should just take one hit and pop out. Or use a big brass drift/metal ended pry bar, etc

either way works, taking out the halfshaft work hurt anything and can def make it easier if your working on the car on jack stands

on a lift its alot easier just to hit it with a bfh and it should pop right out

Ok now Im stumped. I removed the half shaft after so much time trying to pry this thing apart. I FINALLY got it apart only to find out that it looks like I got the wrong axle (also chewed up the end of the half shaft too). The old drivers axle has a male end, and the intermediate shaft has a female end. The new axle is the proper length but has a female end. I dont get it because after looking at many pics of B-series half shafts, they appear to have the male end which leads me to believe I have the correct axle.

So do I have the wrong axle or the wrong intermediate shaft?

Pics for reference. New axle (female), old end of axle (male, fell apart), and my half shaft (female):

Is it possible to just remove the inner boot and switch the ends? They look to be the exact same length. How would I go about securing the boot if I did this?

depends how you want to look at it. you do have a DA half shaft. just swap the cup and go to local auto parts store and get a boot clamp. unless you have a halfshaft that is male-male that would mate with that axle.

for the driver side axle. you have the right one. just not the right halfshaft. Cause i just swapped out my axles. and i have a 98 gsr. So i looked at my old driver side axle. and you have the right one.
