I need the manual transmission (transaxle if you want to get technical) capacity for a B16A, S4C in particular.

I need the oil capacity for a B16A. I've heard 4 quarts, I've heard 5, which is it?

i think it should be 3.5-4 litres of oil for the motor (check the dipstick after 3.5 is poured in).

the tranny fluid should be about 2-3 bottles. fill it till it starts to come out of the hole

Litres? Oh wait, I just saw that you're Canadian.

Here in the US it is about 3.5-3.9 Quarts. I usually pour 3.5 and then wait a while before I check the oil level to see if it needs more.

Thanks guys. I primarily wanted to know the tranny capacity to know if I should buy 2 or 3 quarts, sounds like 3.

yea, buy 3. it takes about 2.5

engine overhaul capacity - 5.1 quarts
oil change with filter - 4.2 quarts
oil change w/o filter - 3.9 quarts


transmission:
overhaul - 2.4 quarts
drain/refill - 2.3 quarts

Where did you find the info on 2 quarts for the tranny?

it's definitely believable... i know that a D-series manual tranny is also 1.9 quarts for drain/refill.

tranny is actually 2.3 us qts. per oil change. 2.4 for overhaul.
