Default Home powder coating system

Anyone use those cheap $100 or so kit available online to do home powder coating?

I'm not expecting 'superb' finish or anything but just want to powder coat some bicycle components. Just wondering if anyone recommends certain kit or brand...guess if the finish is good I wouldn't mind spending few hundred dollars for home use.

TIA

Hmm I might have to check that out. One thing I like about the WAI system is you don't need an air compressor. And I have access to small sandblaster...just need to grab a beatup oven but figured if I'm going to spend $60 for someone to powedercoat parts I might as well get a system for myself.

I have a system I bought from eastwoodco like 7-8 yrs ago. It was $150 and the results are perfect nearly everytime. I have 2 house ovens I bought cheap at a fleamarket that I use. As long as you prep good its going to come out nice.

So for things that are painted like aluminum/steel, if I sandblast them what else should I do? Just use like acetone or rubbing alcohol to get the surface really clean?

just use a can of aircraft stripper. It will bubble the old finish right off. No sanding needed

Sorry if this is a really retarded question, but why can't you use your regular oven that you cook food with?
